Abstract:
A penile prosthesis includes a first penile implant implantable into a first corpora cavernosum and a second penile implant implantable into a second corpora cavernosum, and a pump assembly coupled to the implants by tubing. Each implant includes a tubular film sealed in a liquid-tight arrangement between a proximal tip implantable into a crus penis and a distal tip implantable into a glans penis, a scaffold nested inside of the tubular film, and a first liquid volume contained inside of the tubular film.
Abstract:
Certain embodiments described herein relate to expandable, reversible implants. In an embodiment, the implants are controllable by way of at least one biochemical, chemical, or physical means. In an embodiment, the implants are programmable and/or pre-programmed for a particular level of expansion and/or contraction. In an embodiment, the implants are controlled remotely from a control source that is external to the subject's body.

Abstract:
An orthopedic brace for preventing injury to a wearer including a body having a series of liquid filled regions, the body having a first more flexible state wherein the liquid filled regions contain a liquid material and a second more rigid state wherein the liquid within the regions is hardened to a second harder state, the body transformable from the first state to the second state upon receiving a force which exceeds a predetermined value. A chemical reaction or an isothermal process can cause the phase change.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatuses, computer program products, devices and systems are described that include a rapid-prototyped blood vessel sleeve that is custom-fitted for a blood vessel at least partly based on anatomical blood vessel data from an individual.
Abstract:
A catheter assembly comprises a catheter shaft, a balloon and a pair of collars. The collars may be fixed or rotatable about a catheter shaft prior to exposure to an electric current. Where the collars are fixed to the shaft, the balloon is rotatable about the collars. When exposed to the electric current the collars expand to engage the waists of the balloon thereby sealing the balloon. Where the collars are rotatable about the shaft, the each waist of the balloon is engaged to a respective collars. When the rotatable collars are exposed to the electric current the collars expand to engage the shaft of the catheter thereby sealing the balloon.
Abstract:
The smart textile vascular graft is used with an electrical control unit. The vascular graft includes a tube structure formed of a textile material. At least one active fiber is incorporated in the textile material. The active fiber provides electrical coupling thereof to the electrical control unit to provide for transmission of a control signal between the active fiber and control unit. The active fiber has at least one physical characteristic which is variable and corresponds to the control signal to provide communication between the active fiber and electrical control unit relating to the physical characteristic.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatuses, computer program products, devices and systems are described that include accepting three-dimensional blood vessel data; applying a sleeve-fitting algorithm to the three-dimensional blood vessel data; and presenting a sleeve-fitting algorithm output in response to said applying the sleeve-fitting algorithm to the three-dimensional blood vessel data.

Abstract:
An artificial joint is configured for surgical insertion between two bones. The joint includes first and second parts supported for relative movement, and structure that can be selectively used to facilitate relative fixation of the first and second parts in a manner preventing the relative movement thereof. A method involves surgically inserting such a joint between two bones, and completing the surgical procedure with the first and second parts movable relative to each other. A different method relates to a situation where such a joint was previously surgically installed, and involves modifying the joint in situ to fix the first and second parts against relative movement.
