Abstract:
A cylinder-shaped flow passage in which a first fluid flows includes an internal cylinder which is smaller in diameter than the flow passage. A swirl-generating stator having four vanes is radially fixed in the internal cylinder. A header space for supplying a second fluid is provided to the outer circumference of a wall surface of the internal cylinder in contact with flow separation areas which are formed along downstream surfaces of the swirl-generating stator as the first fluid runs into the swirl-generating stator. The wall surface of the internal cylinder is formed with openings through which the flow separation areas communicate with the header space. The second fluid supplied into the header space flows through the openings into the flow separation areas, and is diffused along the vanes of the swirl-generating stator to be swirled and mixed into the first fluid applied with swirling force by the swirl-generating stator.
Abstract:
In an automotive floor panel assembly (1) comprising a floor panel (1M) stamp-formed of sheet metal and including a longitudinal floor tunnel (2) extending longitudinally in a laterally central part of the floor panel and a lateral floor tunnel (3) extending laterally across the longitudinal floor tunnel, a first reinforcement member (7), which may have a stepped cross section, attached to and extending along a front surface of a front wall (1fw) of the lateral floor tunnel so as to define a closed cross section jointly with the front wall of the lateral floor tunnel. Thereby, a closed cross section is defined jointly by the first reinforcement member and the front wall of the lateral floor tunnel immediately under the front end of the front seats (4) so that the floor panel can be favorably reinforced without limiting the leg rooms of the vehicle occupants of the front seats and without interfering with the space for receiving the fuel tank (10).

Abstract:
An antenna device and a transmitting and receiving unit using the device which are capable of simultaneously polarizing each direction of a plurality of beams are provided without increasing the size of the whole device. For example, when the detection is achieved by forming a plurality of beams such as a radar of monopulse type, the angle measurement range is easily extended. A movable part is provided with a plurality of primary radiators and movable part side transmission lines (dielectric strips of NRD guide) to be coupled therewith, and a fixed part side is provided with dielectric lenses to form each focal plane at the position of primary radiators, and fixed part side transmission lines (dielectric strips of NRD guide) to be respectively coupled with the movable part side transmission lines. A plurality of beams are simultaneously tilted by displacing the movable part.
Abstract:
A control system for a variable displacement engine for an automobile changes a number of the cylinders of the engine when an engine load changes. The system sets an amendment value to a throttle valve opening in accordance with a throttle valve opening and an engine revolution. The system controls the throttle valve before the system changes a number of the cylinders. Thus the throttle valve is controlled to obtain the same torque before and after the change of the number of the cylinders.
Abstract:
A coordinate input device with a display includes a tablet composed of two position detecting units each formed by alternately arranged exciting and detecting lines parallel to each other on a magnetic member in the form of a sheet. These units are overlaid one upon the other so that exciting and detecting lines of one unit extend orthogonally with respect to those of the other. A planar display is overlaid on the tablet. The device further includes a position designating magnetic generator which locally applies a magnetic bias to the magnetic members of the tablet. The exciting lines of the tablet are supplied with an alternating current of a predetermined cycle by a driving current source. A position detecting circuit detects the coordinate values of a position designated by the position designating magnetic generator from the induced voltages respectively generated from the detecting lines of the tablet. The display is driven by a display control circuit. A modulating and demodulating circuit converts data represented by the coordinate values into a signal suitable for a transmission line and vice versa. The device further includes a processor which controls the above-described members and circuits. Position designation with respect to the tablet is effected by the position designating magnetic generator from the upper side of the display, whereby it is possible to input a position signal to the tablet under the display with high accuracy.
Abstract:
A position detecting apparatus for detecting a position appointed by a position appointing magnetism generator 7. The apparatus has at least one magnetostrictive transmission medium 1 and a first coil 2 and a second coil 5 around the medium 1 in such a manner that signals are exchanged between these coils 2,5 through the intermediary of the magnetostrictive transmission medium 1. The electro-magnetic coupling coefficient of the magnetostrictive transmission medium 1 is locally changed at a selected position by the position appointing magnetism generator 7, and this position is detected through the detection of timing of change in the signal level attributable to the change of the above-mentioned coefficient. The magnetism generator 7 need not be connected to any portion of the apparatus, and yet the appointed position can be detected at a high resolution even if the position appointing magnetism generator 7 is vertically spaced considerably from the position detection range. This apparatus can be used, for example, in the detection of position of a moving object, by attaching the position appointing magnetism generator to the moving body while laying the magnetostrictive transmission medium along the path of movement of the moving body.
