    Abstract: Provided are a reactive mesogen that may improve display quality of a liquid crystal display, and a liquid crystal composition including the same. The reactive mesogen is represented by the following Formula: where A1, A2, and A3 are each independently a substituted or unsubstituted divalent hydrocarbon ring, or a substituted or unsubstituted divalent heterocycle, L1 and L2 are each independently a direct linkage, —O—, —S—, —CO—, —COO—, —OCOO—, —O(CH2)k1—, —S(CH2)k1—, —O(CF2)k1—, —S(CF2)k1—, —(CH2)k1—, —CF2CH2—, —(CF2)k1—, —CH═CH—, —CF═CF—, —C≡C—, —CH═CH—COO—, or —(CH2)k1—COO—(CH2)k2—O—, Z1 and Z2 are each independently a direct linkage, —O—, —S—, —CO—, —COO—, —OCOO—, —O(CH2)m1—, —S(CH2)m1—, —O(CF2)m1—, —S(CF2)m1—, —(CH2)m1—, —CF2CH2—, —(CF2)m1—, —CH═CH—, —CF═CF—, —C≡C—, —CH═CH—COO—, —(CH2)m1—COO—, —(CH2)m1—COO—(CH2)m2—O—, —CH—(Sp—Pa)—, —CH2CH—(Sp—Pa)—, or —(CH—(Sp—Pa)—CH—(Sp—Pa))—, Pa is a polymerizable group, B is an unsubstituted heterocycle, a substituted or unsubstituted crown ether group, or wherein T1 and T2 are each independently —OH, —CH3, —CF3, —CHF2, —CH2F, —CH2Br, —CHBr2, —CHCl2, or —CH2Cl.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal display includes: a first insulating substrate, a second insulating substrate, a pixel electrode positioned on the first insulating substrate, a common electrode positioned on the first insulating substrate or the second insulating substrate, a first alignment layer positioned on the first insulating substrate, a second alignment layer positioned on the second insulating substrate, and a liquid crystal layer positioned between the first insulating substrate and the second insulating substrate. The first alignment layer and/or the second alignment layer include an additive and an alignment layer compound having a main chain, and a plurality of side chains connected to the main chain, and at least one of the plurality of side chains includes a vertical alignment group, and a reactive mesogen including two or more photoreactive groups.

    Abstract: Provided is a method of manufacturing a liquid crystal display device including disposing an alignment solution including an alignment agent, reactive mesogens and a solvent on at least one of a first substrate or a second substrate. The alignment solution is cured to form a main alignment layer. A liquid crystal layer is disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The main alignment layer and the liquid crystal layer are heated to elute the reactive mesogens into the liquid crystal layer. The liquid crystal layer is exposed to light to react the reactive mesogens.

    Abstract: A display apparatus includes: a light-emitting panel including a first substrate, a plurality of light-emitting diodes on the first substrate, a bank layer including a plurality of openings, a functional layer in the openings of the bank layer, and a plurality of lenses on the functional layer; a color panel on the light-emitting panel, the color panel including a second substrate and a color filter layer on the second substrate; and a filling layer covering the plurality of lenses between the light-emitting panel and the color panel, the filling layer having a refractive index lower than a refractive index of the plurality of lenses, wherein the plurality of lenses include a first lens overlapping the functional layer, and a second lens overlapping a partition wall of the bank layer.
