Abstract: An unleaded gasoline composition comprises, based on the total volume of the unleaded gasoline composition, 50 to 96 vol. % of an unleaded gasoline; 2 to 20 vol. % of a mixed butanol; and 2 to 30 vol. % of a distillate oil fraction comprising a paraffin, an olefin, a naphthene, and an aromatic at an initial boiling point cut of 180° C., wherein the unleaded gasoline, the mixed butanol, and the distillate oil fraction are selected to provide the unleaded gasoline composition with a Research Octane Number of 90 to 101, determined in accordance with ASTM D 2699; and a Motor Octane Number of 81.4 to 90, determined in accordance with ASTM D 2700.

Abstract: Systems and methods for integrated glycerol carbonate and/or urea production. This disclosure pertains to development of a process for production of glycerol carbonate and/or urea from ammonia, carbon dioxide and glycerol. The process integrates glycerol carbonate production into a urea production process. The urea produced in the production facility may be used to produce glycerol carbonate by reacting urea with glycerol. The ammonia generated by glycerol carbonate production may be recycled back to urea production. Unreacted urea from the glycerol carbonate production may be separated and recycled to the urea product stream. The systems and methods can reduce the cost for urea production and increase product value of the excessive glycerol produced from other chemical plants.

Abstract: A method for the production of a fuel additive includes passing a hydrocarbon stream comprising crude mixed C4 hydrocarbons through a first hydrogenation unit to produce a first product stream; passing the first product stream from the first hydrogenation unit to a methyl tert-butyl ether synthesis unit forming methyl tert-butyl ether and a byproduct stream; passing the byproduct stream through a first distillation unit to separate the byproduct stream into a first 1-butene stream, an isobutane stream, and a 2-butene and n-butane stream; forming a second product stream by passing the 2-butene and n-butane stream to a selective conversion unit; passing the second product stream into a second distillation unit to form an n-butane stream and a second 1-butene stream; passing the second 1-butene stream to a fuel additive production unit; and passing the first 1-butene stream to the fuel additive production unit to form the fuel additive.

The processes and systems provided herein can be used as part of a cost-effective and efficient method for synthesizing methyl tertiary-butyl ether.
