    Abstract: A transmitting device maps complex valued symbols in sequence to physical resource blocks for a sidelink transmission. The transmitting device reserves a first symbol of a subframe, where resource elements in the first symbol of the subframe are not considered in mapping the complex valued symbols to the physical resource blocks for the sidelink transmission. The transmitting device transmits the sidelink transmission after mapping the complex valued symbols to the physical resource blocks. A receiving device receives the sidelink transmission and decodes the sidelink transmission to determine complex valued symbols that are mapped in sequence to physical resource blocks of the sidelink transmission, where the complex valued symbols are not mapped to resource elements in a first symbol of a subframe.

    Abstract: Aspects of disclosure relate to dynamically modifying a synchronization signal block (SSB) beam configuration in a wireless communication system. In an aspect, a UE receives, from a base station, a first message triggering the UE to measure a signal strength of SSB beams transmitted from the base station. The UE then sends, to the base station, a second message including a report of the signal strength of the SSB beams and receives, from the base station, a third message indicating at least an SSB beam of the SSB beams or a quasi-colocation (QCL) type to use based on the report. The UE then establishes a connection with the base station using an indicated SSB beam or QCL type.

    Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to beam management techniques in a wireless communication system. A UE establishes a communication link with a base station and receives a set of transmit beams transmitted via a plurality of symbols in a sequential manner, wherein a respective transmit beam is transmitted in a respective symbol of the plurality of symbols. The UE measures, for each transmit beam in the set of transmit beams, a set of signal strengths corresponding to the respective transmit beam using a plurality of receive beams in the respective symbol, wherein a respective signal strength is measured based on a respective receive beam. The UE then sends a feedback message to the base station comprising at least an identification of a transmit beam having a highest measured signal strength among all sets of signal strengths measured for the set of transmit beams and the highest measured signal strength.
