摘要: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Some wireless networks may maintain up-to-date location information for the UE by periodically determining the location the UE using a low power transponding mechanism while the UE is in an inactive state. The UE may monitor a first beam to receive one or more transponder search signals during one or more transponder occasions, and between paging attempts from one or more of the base stations of the network. The UE may receive the one or more transponder search signals, and may transmit a transponder response message to a base station including a UE identifier associated with the inactive state. The base station may receive the transponder response message, and may conduct various location measurements for the UE using the transponder response.

摘要: Aspects of disclosure relate to dynamically modifying a synchronization signal block (SSB) beam configuration in a wireless communication system. In an aspect, a UE receives, from a base station, a first message triggering the UE to measure a signal strength of SSB beams transmitted from the base station. The UE then sends, to the base station, a second message including a report of the signal strength of the SSB beams and receives, from the base station, a third message indicating at least an SSB beam of the SSB beams or a quasi-colocation (QCL) type to use based on the report. The UE then establishes a connection with the base station using an indicated SSB beam or QCL type.

摘要: Aspects of the disclosure relate to beam management techniques in a wireless communication system. A UE establishes a communication link with a base station and receives a set of transmit beams transmitted via a plurality of symbols in a sequential manner, wherein a respective transmit beam is transmitted in a respective symbol of the plurality of symbols. The UE measures, for each transmit beam in the set of transmit beams, a set of signal strengths corresponding to the respective transmit beam using a plurality of receive beams in the respective symbol, wherein a respective signal strength is measured based on a respective receive beam. The UE then sends a feedback message to the base station comprising at least an identification of a transmit beam having a highest measured signal strength among all sets of signal strengths measured for the set of transmit beams and the highest measured signal strength.

摘要: In some aspects, a UE may select a first type of antenna for communication with a base station based at least in part on a beam management procedure that uses an RSRP parameter determined using a downlink reference signal associated with a single antenna port; measure a CSI-RS resource for CSF, associated with multiple antenna ports, using a second type of antenna and after selecting the first type of antenna; compare a first spectral efficiency parameter associated with communicating using the first type of antenna and a second spectral efficiency parameter determined based at least in part on measuring the CSI-RS resource for CSF using the second type of antenna; and select one of the first type of antenna or the second type of antenna for subsequent communication with the base station based at least in part on comparing the first spectral efficiency parameter and the second spectral efficiency parameter.

摘要: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit first control information that is indicative of noise (e.g., phase noise, additive white gaussian noise (AWGN), or both) that impacts a spectral efficiency of a modulation and coding scheme (MCS). The MCS may be associated with a constellation of points that may be each representative of a respective candidate sequence of bit values encoded with a corresponding combination of signal amplitude and carrier phase. The UE may receive, based on transmitting the first control information, second control information that indicates a set of partitioning parameters indicative of a hierarchical partitioning of the constellation into a multiple subsets of points. As such, the UE may decode a message, modulated via the MCS, using the hierarchical partitioning indicated by the set of partitioning parameters.

The RAN entity may then group the plurality of transmit beams into a plurality of beam groups based on the beam report and transmit a plurality of TCI state groups, each corresponding to a respective one of the beam groups, to the UE.
