Abstract:
A configuration to improve the manner in which a UE is configured to perform RLM for UEs that do not support CSI-RS based RLM. The apparatus may transmit, to a base station, an indication including a RLM capability. The apparatus may receive, from the base station, a RLM RS configuration from the UE based on the indication. The apparatus determines the RLM RS configuration for the UE, based on the RLM RS configuration received from the base station.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques provide for dynamic updates to beam failure detection (BFD) reference signals (RSs) and path loss RS using medium access control-control element (MAC-CE) or downlink control information (DCI). For example, the quasi co-location (QCL) of periodic CSI-RS may be dynamically updated by the MAC-CE or DCI when the periodic CSI-RS is for BFD RS. Also, a semi-persistent CSI-RS or aperiodic CSI-RS may act as a BFD RS. An enhanced update procedure may be used to update the path loss RS dynamically using MAC-CE or DCI. In some cases, the path loss RS parameters updated via MAC-CE or DCI may overwrite the previously RRC configured path loss RS parameters. In another example, if the path loss RS is not configured, then the path loss RS by default may be the spatial relation reference signal of the corresponding uplink beam.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may identify an active transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state, a set of active TCI states, and/or a spatial relation reference signal identifier to be used for one or more component carriers (CCs) of a UE. The base station may then transmit a control message to the UE that may indicate the identified active TCI state, set of active TCI states, and/or spatial relation reference signal identifier to be used for one or more CCs and/or bandwidth parts of the UE. The UE may determine a communication configuration for a CC of the plurality of CC based on the control message and an optional shared command indication. The UE may the apply the TCI state or set of active TCI states to a subset of CCs, or UE may configure sounding reference signals for a subset of CCs.
Abstract:
A method of performing channel estimation includes receiving a frame that includes, for each subcarrier of a subset of subcarriers in the frame, a pair of pilot symbols in the subcarrier. The subcarriers of the subset are regularly spaced apart from one another in the frequency domain. Time-averaged channel estimates for each subcarrier of the subset are generated based on the pairs of pilot symbols. Frequency-averaged channel estimates for respective subcarriers are generated based on the time-averaged channel estimates. Interpolation is performed between respective frequency-averaged channel estimates to generate interpolated channel estimates for subcarriers between the respective subcarriers.
Abstract:
An adaptive filter bank can be implemented on a PLC device to dynamically adapt to variations in notching requirements and the performance of the PLC medium. The PLC device can apply filter coefficients to one or more filter elements of the adaptive filter bank to generate one or more notched subcarriers in the PLC band. A performance measurement of one or more subcarriers in the PLC band can be determined and evaluated against corresponding performance measurement thresholds. For a given notched subcarrier, if the performance measurement of the corresponding subcarriers is not in accordance with the performance measurement threshold, updated filter coefficients for the filter element configured to generate the notched subcarrier can be determined based, at least in part, on the performance measurement of the one or more subcarriers. The filter coefficients of the filter element can then be updated using the updated filter coefficients.
Abstract:
A coax network unit (CNU) receives downstream bursts from a coax line terminal (CLT) and transmits upstream bursts to the CLT. The downstream bursts include start markers that indicate the beginnings of the downstream bursts and may also include pilot symbols. The downstream bursts are continuous across available resource elements in a matrix of subcarriers and orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols. The available resource elements exclude resource elements in the matrix that carry the pilot symbols. The upstream bursts may include start markers indicating the beginnings of the upstream bursts and end markers indicating the ends of the upstream bursts. Respective upstream bursts are transmitted in respective groups of one or more resource blocks allocated to the CNU.
Abstract:
A receiver circuit, including a multi-stage QAM de-mapper, for receiving a QAM data signal is disclosed. A first de-mapper circuit recovers a set of encoded data bits from the QAM data signal by calculating a plurality of distances between a received QAM symbol and each of a plurality of possible constellation points. A second de-mapper circuit then generates a set of unencoded data bits for the received QAM symbol based, at least in part, on the plurality of distances calculated by the first de-mapper circuit. The receiver circuit may further include a decoder circuit to decode the set of encoded data bits recovered by the first de-mapper circuit. The second de-mapper circuit may identify a subset of the plurality of possible constellation points based on a result of the decoding and select a constellation point that is associated with the shortest distance of the plurality of distances.
