Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which RF-domain wireless routers may repeat, extend, or redirect beamformed wireless signals received from one or more transmitters to one or more receivers. The router may receive transmissions at a mmW frequency using a first array of antenna elements, and provide the transmissions to a beamforming network, such as a Butler matrix, that outputs one or more a signals to a switching network. The switching network may perform switching to provide the one or more signals to desired inputs of an output beamforming network that outputs beamformed transmission beams via a second array of antenna elements.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques leverage user equipment (UE) functionality to repeat wireless signals received from a base station to one or more other UEs and received from one or more other UEs to the base station. The repeating UE receives, during a transmission time interval reserved for one of uplink communication or downlink communication, a signal from a first device. The UE operates in a time division duplex network. The UE routes the signal, via a radio-frequency (RF) transmission path from an RF receive chain of the UE to an RF transmit chain of the UE. The UE retransmits the signal to a second device during the transmission time interval.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless repeater may receive a unicast transmission and may relay the unicast transmission as a multicast transmission to a set of user equipments (UEs). Transmitting the multicast transmission may involve retransmitting the unicast transmission or a signal derived from the unicast transmission in each of a set of beamforming directions. The multicast transmission may be transmitted over multiple antenna arrays or a single antenna array associated with a Butler matrix. Additionally or alternatively, the wireless repeater may receive transmissions from multiple UEs; may form an aggregated signal associated with the received transmissions; and may transmit a unicast transmission associated with the aggregated signal, such as to a base station. The multiple UE transmissions may be received over multiple antenna arrays or over a single antenna array associated with a Butler matrix.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A codebook adaptation may be performed for a flexible user equipment (UEs) to determine a codebook for a physical configuration of the UE. For example, if the UE determines that the physical configuration does not correspond to a pre-loaded codebook in its memory, the UE may provide information about the physical configuration to a base station to determine a corresponding codebook. Additionally, the UE may request that the base station provide channel information to assist with the codebook determination. In some cases, this request may indicate for the base station to allocate a specific number of channel state information reference signal symbols that the UE can use for the codebook determination. Additionally or alternatively, the UE may generate the codebook internally and then signal to the base station a request for a beam refinement procedure with the generated codebook.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a repeater may receive a first signal from a transmitting device and determine an amplified version of the signal may not be successfully received by a receiving device. The repeater may transmit a mode switch message to the transmitting device to indicate a request for the transmitting device to switch to a transmission mode associated with one or more different transmission parameters based on detecting that the amplified version of the signal may not be received by the receiving device. The transmitting device may adjust one or more transmission parameters according to the mode switch message and may transmit a second signal to the repeater based on the adjusted transmission parameters. The repeater, operating according to the mode switch message, may receive the second signal and transmit an amplified version of the second signal to the receiving device.

Abstract: In some aspects, a base station may transmit a configuration that indicates a resource set to be used by a millimeter wave repeater for beam management, wherein the resource set includes a first set of resources to be used by the millimeter wave repeater to receive one or more reference signals from a first node and a second set of resources to be used by the millimeter wave repeater to relay the one or more reference signals to a second node. The base station may identify a first beam pair and a second beam pair based at least in part on the one or more reference signals received and/or relayed in accordance with the configuration, wherein the first beam pair is between the millimeter wave repeater and the first node and the second beam pair is between the millimeter wave repeater and the second node. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first wireless device may receive a measurement configuration, from a second wireless device, to support full-duplex operation using a shared resource. The first wireless device may transmit, via the shared resource, a first signal via a first transmission beam using a first antenna array of the first wireless device. The first wireless device may monitor, in accordance with the measurement configuration, the shared resource using a first receive beam via a second antenna array of the first wireless device. The first wireless device may then transmit a measurement report to a second wireless device based on the monitoring. The second wireless device may transmit, to the first wireless device, a duplexing configuration configuring the full-duplex operation of the first wireless device based on the measurement report.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and apparatus for wireless communication of a phased array repeater. The apparatus may receive, from a base station, a signal for a user equipment (UE) at a first frequency. The apparatus may also adjust, at the phased array repeater, the first frequency of the signal to a second frequency, where the first frequency may be adjusted by heterodyning. Additionally, the apparatus may transmit the signal to the UE at the second frequency. The present disclosure also relates to methods and apparatus for wireless communication. The apparatus may transmit a signal for a UE at a first frequency. Further, the apparatus may determine control information for tuning a frequency adjustment of the signal at a repeater. The apparatus may also transmit, to the repeater, the control information for tuning the frequency adjustment.
