Abstract: A wireless communication system, apparatus, and methodology are described for enabling wireless communication devices to generate extended range Physical Layer Protocol Data Units (PPDUs) for wireless transmission to a destination communication devices by generating, at a first wireless communication device, a data sequence in which a plurality of repeated data symbols are encoded for wireless transmission to the second communication device, and then applying a scrambling sequence that is known to the first and second communication devices to the data sequence to generate an output data sequence wherein the plurality of repeated data symbols are pseudo-randomized prior to performing an inverse Fourier transform on the output data sequence.

Abstract: A method and system comprises receiving a signal over an air interface. A binary sequence is detected in the signal. A legacy signal (L-SIG) field of a physical layer protocol data circuit (PPDU) is decoded based on the detected binary sequence and based on decoding the L-SIG field, two spoofing symbols which directly follow the L-SIG field is checked in the PPDU, wherein the two spoofing symbols comprise binary phase shift keying (BPSK) symbols. Based a presence of the two spoofing symbols, a long range portion of the PPDU is processed; and based on an absence of the two spoofing symbols, the PPDU is processed as a legacy PPDU.

Abstract: In an 802.11be wireless system, a receiving station device signals a packet padding capability in a wireless area network in accordance with an Extremely High Throughput (EHT) communication protocol by constructing a MAC control management frame to include an EHT capability element indicating whether a packet extension value longer than 16 μs is supported by the receiving station device, where one or more fields in the EHT capability element include (1) a common nominal packet padding field having a plurality of values to signal different packet extension values for use with all transmission constellations, spatial streams NSS, and resource unit (RU) allocations supported by the first STA device, including at least one packet extension value longer than 16 μs; and/or (2) a PHY packet extension threshold (PPET) field comprising a plurality of PPET values to signal packet extension values including at least one packet extension value longer than 16 μs.

Abstract: A wireless network includes a networking device and various stations. The networking device determines an available bandwidth of each station of the wireless network. Further, the networking device assigns a bandwidth and at least one spatial stream to each station. The bandwidth assigned to each station is less than or equal to the available bandwidth of the corresponding station. Further, the bandwidth assigned to one station is different from and partially overlaps with the bandwidth assigned to another station. Similarly, the spatial stream assigned to one station is different from the spatial stream assigned to another station. The networking device generates a data packet indicative of the bandwidth and the spatial stream assigned to each station of the wireless network, and transmits the data packet to each station to enable multi-user multiple-input-multiple-output (MU-MIMO) communication between the networking device and the stations.

Abstract: Systems, apparatuses and methods described herein provide a method for padding a signal extension of orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols. A transceiver may obtain a plurality of data symbols for transmission, and determine that a number of information bits for a last symbol of the plurality of data symbols is not an integer value. A special padding rule may be applied to add padding bits to the last symbol. A number of coded bits for the last symbol may be determined when the number of information bits for the last symbol has changed, and the plurality of data symbols for data transmission may be encoded based on the determined number of coded bits for the last symbol.

Abstract: Embodiments of a method and an apparatus for wireless communications are disclosed. In an embodiment, a method for wireless communications involves assigning subcarriers of a first access point (AP) and a second AP to a subcarrier set of a virtual AP, generating, by the virtual AP, a packet that includes a signal for a station (STA) and that is transmitted using the subcarrier set, where generating the packet includes: encoding a preamble portion of the packet on the assigned subcarriers included in the subcarrier set, nulling the preamble portion of the packet for unassigned subcarriers of the first AP and the second AP, encoding a subsequent portion of the packet according to a Distributed Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (DMIMO) transmission, and transmitting the packet to the STA.
