Abstract: Bypassing radar in wide Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) channels utilizing puncturing may be provided. A first client device may be classified as eligible for puncturing and a second client device may be classified as not eligible for puncturing. Next, it may be determined that a subchannel in a bandwidth range should not be used. Then, in response to determining that the subchannel in the bandwidth range should not be used, the first client device may be steered to a first subset of the bandwidth range and the second client device may be steered to a second subset of the bandwidth range. The second subset of the bandwidth range may be smaller than the first subset of the bandwidth range.

Abstract: Dynamic configuration of Overlapping Basic Set Service Preamble Detect (OBSS/PD) parameters for an Access Point (AP) may be provided. First, a plurality of stations within a Spatial Reuse (SR) range of the AP may be determined. Next, Signal to Interference plus Noise Ratio (SINR) calculations associated with the plurality of stations may be performed to determine an SINR impact on the plurality of stations if the AP performs an SR transmission given OBSS/PD parameters currently configured for the AP. Then, based on the SINR calculations, the OBSS/PD parameters for the AP may be dynamically adjusted.

Abstract: In dense Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) deployments, Access Points (APs) in other Extended Service Sets (ESSs) can be hidden (a first AP does not receive signals from a third AP). However, these APs in other ESSs can still interfere with communications between the third AP and the devices communicating with the first AP. To improve service to that device in that situation, the first AP needs information about the third AP in the first AP's decision making processes. In these situations, a second AP, in contact with the third AP, can share information about the third AP with the first AP so that the first AP can avoid colliding with the third AP.

Abstract: Enhanced Radio Frequency (RF) management using active sensors may be provided. First, a plurality of user devices may be determined that a first active sensor is to act as an anchor for within a first portion of a Radio Frequency (RF) environment in which the plurality of user devices and the first active sensor are disposed. Next, RF environment data corresponding to the first portion of the RF environment in which the plurality of user devices are disposed may be collected. A report corresponding to the first portion of the RF environment in which the plurality of user devices are disposed may then be created based on the collected RF environment data. The report may be configured to aid in evaluating a link between at least one of the plurality of user devices and a first Access Point (AP). The created report may be provided to the first AP.

Abstract: In one embodiment, an apparatus comprises an enhanced distributed channel access (EDCA) selection agent configured to receive a plurality of measurements pertaining to a plurality of clients, compute a set of optimal EDCA parameters using the plurality of measurements, and provide an EDCA configuration for the plurality of clients, and a client behavior predictor configured to receive the plurality of measurements pertaining to the plurality of clients, to receive the set of optimal EDCA parameters, and to compute a plurality of client mode predictions. Client mode predictions may be evaluated and potentially used for additional EDCA parameter optimization by the EDCA selection agent.

Abstract: An access point in a wireless network communicates wirelessly with one or more client devices over a channel that includes a plurality of subchannels. Each subchannel corresponds to a distinct frequency chunk with a respective plurality of subcarriers. Radar is detected on a first subchannel. In response, a selection is made between (i) redefining the channel and (ii) puncturing the first subchannel while continuing to use all other subchannels. Puncturing the first subchannel includes muting subcarriers on the first subchannel. Redefining the channel includes removing multiple subchannels from the channel. The selection is based at least in part on one or more factors that provide indications as to whether puncturing would be efficient and/or effective. The access point continues to communicate wirelessly with the one or more client devices in accordance with the selection.

Abstract: Coordinated Frequency Division Multiplexing (FDM) Transmission Opportunity (TXOP) sharing may be provided by determining that at least two Access Points (APs) of a wireless network support coordinated FDM TXOP sharing. In response to the determination that the at least two APs support coordinated FDM TXOP sharing, at least one of: a first bias is applied to a channel assignment algorithm to promote an assignment of overlapping channels of the at least two APs, and a second bias is applied to the channel assignment algorithm to promote an assignment of adjacent channels of the at least two APs. Next, channels are assigned to the at least two APs based on an output of the channel assignment algorithm.
