摘要: A ballistic electron surface-emitting device (BSD) emitter that can be used in a field emission display (FED). The emitter being made of metallic carbon nanotubes extending in a direction that is normal to a surface of the cathode. The carbon nanotubes are designed so that electrons therein can experience a ballistic effect where the mean free path between collisions is as large or larger than a length of the carbon nanotube and that the width of the carbon nanotube being a fermi wavelength. On an opposite end of the carbon nanotubes is a thin metal electrode layer and a thin insulating layer to protect the carbon nanotubes from damage.

摘要: A detergent container of a washing machine in accordance with the present invention comprises a powdered detergent chamber to store powdered detergent, an outlet to discharge powdered detergent mixed with water in the powdered detergent chamber, a subsidiary detergent chamber to store bleach or fabric softner, a drain passage to guide powdered detergent mixed with water from the powdered detergent chamber to the outlet, and a bypass passage to allow powdered detergent mixed with water to bypass from the powdered detergent chamber to the drain passage. Even though an excessive volume of powdered detergent is placed in the powdered detergent chamber and the drain passage is clogged, powdered detergent mixed with water can be drained from the detergent container through the bypass passage, thus powdered detergent can be supplied to a tub of the washing machine without a hitch.

摘要: Disclosed is a method of inputting letters in a mobile terminal by using letter keys each of which has at least one letter allocated thereto. In the method, after there is an input of at least two letter keys, first proposed letter sets are extracted from combinations of letters allocated to the input letter keys, and one of the extracted first proposed letter sets is selected. When there is a further input of the letter key, the first proposed letter sets are further extracted by combining the selected first proposed letter set with letters allocated to the further input letter key. One of the further extracted first proposed letter sets is selected and the selected letter set is received as input data.

摘要: Disclosed herein is a method of cleaning a photomask, which prevents haze from being generated on a surface of the photomask during a photolithography process. The photomask is heat treated to remove residual ions on a surface thereof and to induce curing and oxidation of Cr and MoSiON layers, thereby preventing diffusion of the ions. Etching of Cr and MoSiON layers due to a cleaning process is suppressed in order to significantly reduce a change in phase and transmissivity of optical properties of Cr and MoSiON.

摘要: A Carbon NanoTube (CNT) structure includes a substrate, a CNT support layer, and a plurality of CNTs. The CNT support layer is stacked on the substrate and has pores therein. One end of each of the CNTs is attached to portions of the substrate exposed through the pores and each of the CNTs has its lateral sides supported by the CNT support layer. A method of vertically aligning CNTs includes: forming a first conductive substrate; stacking a CNT support layer having pores on the first conductive substrate; and attaching one end of the each of the CNTs to portions of the first conductive substrate exposed through the pores.
