    摘要: The present invention relates to a display device including a photosensor in a pixel region. The photosensor of the present invention includes a diode (D1) that receives incident light, reset signal wiring (RST) that supplies a reset signal, readout signal wiring (RWS) that supplies a readout signal, a storage node (INT) whose potential changes in accordance with the amount of light received by the photodetection element in a sensing period, the sensing period being from when the reset signal is supplied until when the readout signal is supplied, an amplification element (C1) that amplifies the potential of the storage node in accordance with the readout signal, and a sensor switching element (M2) for reading out the potential amplified by the amplification element to output wiring (OUT) as sensor circuit output.

    摘要: An optical sensor is provided with a photodiode (D1) which receives light in a first range, including light to be detected, and a photodiode (D2) which receives light in a second range other than the light to be detected. For instance, the photodiode (D1) receives light at all the incident angles, and the photodiode (D2) has a light blocking film on an incident light path so as to selectively receive only the incident light from the oblique directions. The differential between the output from the photodiode (D1) and that from the photodiode (D2) is read out as sensor output.

    摘要: A photosensor-equipped display device is provided having a combination of visible and non-visible light sources where a voltage drop is minimized when the non-visible light sources are turned on. The display device includes: a plurality of infrared LEDs (3b); photosensors (9) provided in a pixel region (4) for detecting reflected light originating from the infrared LEDs (3b); a sensor row driver circuit (7) configured to supply a sensor drive signal to the photosensors (9); an amplifier circuit (6) configured to amplify a signal read from the photosensors (9) in response to the sensor drive signal and output a photosensor signal; a signal processing circuit (20) configured to process the photosensor signal output from the amplifier circuit (6); and a backlight control circuit (13) configured to control on and off of the infrared LEDs (3b). The plurality of photosensors (9) are divided into a plurality of sensor groups in the pixel region (4). The light source control circuit (13) causes separate sets of infrared LEDs (3b), corresponding to the sensor groups, to be on during different time periods.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display device having an image input function capable of suppressing the degradation of image quality of a display image and a captured image caused by a parasitic capacitance is provided. The liquid crystal display device, which includes an active matrix substrate (1), a counter substrate (2), and a liquid crystal layer and performs inversion driving, includes a photodetection part provided on the matrix substrate (1) for each or at least two of the active elements, and a sensor drive part (5). The photodetection part includes a photodiode and a capacitance storing charge, and outputs a photodetective signal VSOUT whose level changes in accordance with the amount of the stored charge. The sensor drive part (5) outputs, to the photodetection part, a reset signal that resets the charge in the capacitance and a reading signal that causes the photodetection part to output a photodetective signal during a period in which the polarity is set to be a predetermined one, and a current supplied to the active elements does not vary after the completion of the inversion of the polarity.

A display device in use has an active matrix substrate (20) including a transparency base substrate (2), a plurality of active elements and a photodetector. The photodetector includes a light-shielding layer (3) provided on the base substrate (2), and a photodiode (1) arranged on an upper layer of the light-shielding layer (3). The light-shielding layer (3) is overlapped with the photodiode (1) in the thickness direction of the base substrate (2). The photodiode (1) includes a silicon layer (11) insulated electrically from the light-shielding layer (3). The silicon layer (11) includes a p-layer (11c), an i-layer (11b) and an n-layer (11a) that are provided adjacent to each other in the planar direction. The p-layer (11c) is formed so that its area (length Lp) will be larger than the area (length Ln) of the n-layer (11a).

    摘要: A liquid crystal display is provided that can achieve an improvement in sensitivity of a photodiode disposed within a display region of an active matrix substrate. To this end, a liquid crystal display is used that includes: an active matrix substrate 1 in which a plurality of pixels are arranged in matrix form; and a counter substrate in which a color filter is provided. In the liquid crystal display, the active matrix substrate 1 includes a photodiode 11 within a display region, and the color filter includes colored areas 6a to 6c that are in one-to-one correspondence with sub-pixels 5a to 5c that constitute a pixel. Each of the colored areas 6a to 6c includes a high-transmittance portion 31 having a transmittance higher than a transmittance of a periphery of the high-transmittance portion 31. Of these colored areas 6a to 6c, the colored area 6a is formed so that the high-transmittance portion 31 positionally coincides with an i layer 13 (light detection region) of the photodiode 11 in a thickness direction of the liquid crystal display.
