    Abstract: There is provided an image forming apparatus. A transfer controller is capable of transferring an original document image read from an original document to a plurality of transfer destinations. A management unit manages the transfer controller in such a manner that after the original document image is transferred to one of the plurality of transfer destinations, the original document image is transferred to another transfer destination. The transfer controller reflects a result of transfer to the one transfer destination when transferring the original document image to the other transfer destination.

    Abstract: A system and method for real time translation of scanned documents includes a multifunction peripheral having intelligent controller including a processor and associated memory. A scan engine generates an electronic image of a tangible document and a touchscreen user interface receives a user scan instruction. The scan operation generates a scan file and a generated image of the document is displayed on the touchscreen. A user selects an area of the generated image via the touchscreen. An optical character recognition operation generates a character based file which is then translated from a source language to a target language. The resultant translation is then displayed on the touchscreen.

    Abstract: A reading apparatus configured to read a plurality of colorimetric patches in different colors formed on a paper sheet and trigger patches formed so as to correspond to the colorimetric patches includes: a colorimeter configured to read the colorimetric patches; a trigger sensor configured to read the trigger patches; and a controller configured to control a reading region, wherein the controller has a colorimetry region determination mode in which the reading region is determined and a colorimetry adjustment mode in which the reading region is controlled, and in the colorimetry region determination mode, after the reading regions are set to states where the reading regions are gradually shifted in a reading direction, the reading results for the colorimetric patches are collected and thereafter, a region for which a state consistent with a characteristic of the colorimetric patch has been obtained as the reading result is determined as the reading region.

    Abstract: An image forming apparatus, including: a deflection unit configured to deflect light beams emitted from light emitting points with a mirror face to form scanning lines in a second direction orthogonal to a first direction in which a photosensitive drum is rotated; a correction unit configured to correct an optical face tangle error of the mirror based on a deviation amount from a distance between the deflection unit and the photosensitive member; a calculation unit configured to calculate a positional deviation amount of the emitting points in the first direction; a transformation unit configured to transform a pixel position of an input image based on the positional deviation amount so that an interval between the scanning lines is a predetermined interval; and a filtering unit configured to obtain a pixel value of an output image based on the transformed pixel position of the input image.

    Abstract: An operation panel that is incorporated in an apparatus generating vibration during operation, and displays an operation screen of the apparatus to receive operation from a user includes: a touch panel that includes a display area of the operation screen, and detects contact between an external object and the display area; a vibration generation unit that applies vibration to the display area; a vibration storage unit that stores a spectrum of vibration generated by operation of the apparatus as a spectrum of background vibration; and a response control unit that checks whether the apparatus is in a standby state or an operating state, and causes the vibration generation unit to apply vibration indicating a first spectrum to the display area when the apparatus is in the standby state, and vibration indicating a second spectrum to the display area when the apparatus is in the operating state.
