    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some cases, a first user equipment (UE) within a coverage area of a base station may determine a power control configuration. The first UE may transmit an indication of the power control configuration to a second UE, which may adjust one or more power control parameters based on the indication. The one or more power control parameters may include a target received power, a compensation factor, a downlink path loss between the base station and the first UE, or a combination thereof. The second UE may use the adjusted one or more power control parameters to determine a transmit power and may transmit a message to the first UE with the determined transmit power. In some cases, the second UE may be outside of the coverage area of the base station.

The co-phasing factor is determined for generation of at least one co-phased beam by the second wireless communication device.     Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for coordinated transmissions in certain systems, such as millimeter wave (mmW) systems. A method of wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) generally includes providing an indication to a plurality of base stations (BSs) of one or more selected beams for transmission by each of the plurality of BSs. The method includes determining one or more co-phase factors. The method includes receiving a coordinated transmission from the plurality of BSs based on the one or more selected beams and the one or more co-phase factors. A method by a BS generally includes receiving the indication from the UE of the one or more selected beam, determining one or more co-phase correction factors, and sending a coordinated transmission to the UE based, at least in part, on the one or more selected beam and the one or more co-phase correction factors.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques may enable a first wireless device (e.g., a parent node) to transmit a control message to a second wireless device (e.g., a child node). The control message may include a resource reservation for communication with the second wireless device. The second wireless device may receive the control message and may transmit an acknowledgment message acknowledging successful reception of the resource reservation. The first wireless device may monitor for the acknowledgment message and may communicate with the second wireless device based on whether the acknowledgment message is received. For example, if the first wireless device receives feedback acknowledging successful reception of the resource reservation at the second wireless device, the devices may communicate data in the reserved resources. Otherwise, the first wireless device may retransmit a control message if the first control message was not successfully received.

    Abstract: Generally, the described techniques provide for multiple input multiple output (MIMO) operation mode configuration (e.g., configuration of spatial MIMO, polarization MIMO, or both, across one or more antenna modules of a user equipment (UE)) based on the UE characteristics, channel characteristics, or both. For example, a UE may determine channel characteristics, as well as UE characteristics, for MIMO operation mode configuration. The UE may then feedback, to the base station, MIMO operation information (e.g., channel characteristics, UE characteristics, a request for one or more MIMO operation modes determined by the UE, or some combination thereof) for MIMO operation mode configuration. The base station may receive the MIMO operation information and may determine one or more MIMO operation modes for the UE based on the received MIMO operation information, network conditions, or both. The base station may then transmit a MIMO operation mode configuration to the UE.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for beamforming in environments with angular constraints are described. A wireless device such as a user equipment (UE) or base station may configure beam parameters based on a sensitivity level of a neighboring wireless device (e.g., a satellite). The configuration of beam parameters may be based on an interference power profile (e.g., threshold(s) indicated by an interference power profile). The interference power profile may specify a mask, which may indicate allowed or unintended directions for transmission or a transmission power mask. A beamformed transmission may be in accordance with the configured beam parameters, which may result in a reduced transmission power in one or more directions, compliance with total power limits, peak power limits, or energy radiated over a period of time, or any combination thereof.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications that support coordinated beamforming in millimeter wave (mmW) systems. A user equipment (UE) may indicate a number of supported antennas for signal reception. A plurality of transmission-reception points (TRxPs) may coordinate a beam training with the supported antennas, in determining a beam estimation for coordinated reception at the UE. The coordinated beam training may be carried over combined beams of the associated TRxPs, and may be based on co-phasing factors within a single antenna panel for each of the TRxPs. Based on the coordinated beam training, the UE may determine a matched filtering beam estimate for reception and receive coordinated beamformed transmissions from the plurality of TRxPs as part of coordinated multipoint (CoMP) transmissions.
