    Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for beamforming in wireless communications. Some implementations more specifically relate to beamforming configurations for multicast communications. A transmitting device may transmit multicast data to multiple receiving devices, concurrently, via a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH). The PDSCH may be preceded by a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH). The PDCCH may provide scheduling information for the PDSCH, including a multicast beam associated with the PDSCH and a timing offset or delay between the PDCCH and the PDSCH. A receiving device may determine that the PDSCH contains multicast data based on an indication in the PDCCH. To receive the PDSCH, each receiving device may tune its antennas in a direction of the scheduled multicast beam or a default beam based on the delay between the PDCCH and the PDSCH.

    Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for enhancement for amplify-and-forward relay. Instead of merely passing received signal from a source, relay may equalize the received signal based on reference signal contained in the received signal, before amplifying and transmitting the signal to a destination. Compared to amplify-and-forward, equalize-and-forward may compensate the received source signal for various imperfections such as channel distortions and phase errors, using demodulation reference signal and phase tracking reference signal. The relay may apply Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) to equalize the signal in tone domain.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for configuring beam failure recovery operations. A method includes performing beam failure detection of a beam pair link associated with a secondary cell, wherein a user equipment (UE) is configured with one or more uplink control channel groups, each of the one or more uplink control channel groups comprising a corresponding plurality of component carriers where one of the corresponding plurality of component carriers is designated for communication of an uplink control channel for the corresponding uplink control channel group; determining one or more cells on which to send a beam failure recovery request (BFRQ) message based on a number of uplink control channel groups the UE is configured with; sending the BFRQ on the one or more cells; and receiving a beam failure recovery response message on at least one of the one or more cells.

A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes monitoring one or more reference signals for beam failure detection for a plurality of component carriers (CCs), detecting a beam failure for a subset of one or more CCs of the plurality of CCs based on the one or more reference signals, generating a beam failure recovery request (BFRQ) indicating that a beam failure has occurred for the plurality of CCs in response to the detection of the beam failure for the subset of one or more CCs, and transmitting the BFRQ.
