    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit, and a base station may receive, information related to multipath richness of a channel environment and information related to antenna module capabilities associated with the UE for at least a first frequency band and a second frequency band. The base station may transmit, and the UE may receive, information indicating a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) mode in which to operate one or more antenna modules of the UE based at least in part on the information related to the multipath richness of the channel environment, the antenna module capabilities associated with the UE, and respective cell loadings in the first frequency band and the second frequency band. The UE may update at least one of the one or more beamforming parameters in the beamforming calibration configuration based, at least in part, on the one or more beamforming assistance signals.     Abstract: Method and apparatus for two-way beamforming operations for calibration. The apparatus receives a first set of reference signals from a network node using N sets of beam weights over N symbols. The apparatus estimates a complex-valued beamformed channel based on the first set of reference signals. The apparatus transmits a second set of reference signals to the network entity using the N sets of beam weights. The apparatus receives a set of feedback signals from the network entity comprising measurements of the transmitted second set of reference signals. The apparatus computes a set of calibration adjustment factors between transmit and receive parts of a set of beam weights based on the set of feedback signals and the estimated complex-valued beamformed channel. The apparatus performs a calibration adjustment operation based on the computed set of calibrated adjustment factors.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A codebook adaptation may be performed for a flexible user equipment (UEs) to determine a codebook for a physical configuration of the UE. For example, if the UE determines that the physical configuration does not correspond to a pre-loaded codebook in its memory, the UE may provide information about the physical configuration to a base station to determine a corresponding codebook. Additionally, the UE may request that the base station provide channel information to assist with the codebook determination. In some cases, this request may indicate for the base station to allocate a specific number of channel state information reference signal symbols that the UE can use for the codebook determination. Additionally or alternatively, the UE may generate the codebook internally and then signal to the base station a request for a beam refinement procedure with the generated codebook.
