Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) or a base station may generate a discrete Fourier transform (DFT) waveform from separate DFT inputs of data content, a guard interval (GI) sequence, and tail suppression samples. The UE or the base station may generate a first communication with the DFT waveform using an inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT) operation. The first communication may include, in a time domain, a data signal corresponding to the data content and a GI-based tail signal that corresponds to the GI sequence and that is suppressed with a tail suppression signal based at least in part on the tail suppression samples. The UE or the base station may transmit the first communication. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: The apparatus wireless communication may include a UE. The UE may receive a DL communication triggering a UL communication starting in a first UL slot/subframe from an NTN BS over at least one DL slot/subframe ending in a first DL slot/subframe. The UE may monitor for DL communications from the NTN BS in at least a subset of DL slots/subframes between the first DL slot/subframe and a second DL slot/subframe that is time-aligned with the first UL slot/subframe. The DL communication may trigger a second DL communication starting at a third DL slot/subframe and ending at a fourth DL slot/subframe, and the UL communication is based at least in part on receiving the second DL communication, and the UE may monitor the at least the subset of slots/subframes between the fourth DL slot/subframe and the second DL slot/subframe.

Abstract: Techniques are described for supporting user equipment (UE) positioning in a non-terrestrial network (NTN). To allow calculating a position/location of a UE based on reference signal (RS) measurements to and from one satellite (or a terrestrial base station), a device may be configured to calculate a doppler measurement and a range measurement and report such measurements to be used by a location server to calculate a UE position. An example device may receive a first RS (with the first RS being one of a positioning reference signal (PRS) or a sounding reference signal (SRS)), receive a second RS associated with the first RS, calculate a doppler measurement based on one or both of the first RS or the second RS, and report the doppler measurement. The doppler measurement (such as a measured frequency offset) may be used by a location server to calculate a UE position on the earth surface.

Abstract: The apparatus may be a device at a UE or a base station. The UE (or base station) may be configured to measure a phase noise of a first local oscillator associated with a first port. The UE (or base station) may further be configured to configure, based on the measured phase noise, an allocation of a first set of one or more REs of a PUSCH (or PDSCH) for at least one PT-RS associated with the first port. The first set of one or more REs may include multiple layers associated with a multiple-layer single-carrier waveform transmission. The UE (or base station) may also be configured to transmit, to a base station (or a UE), the PUSCH (or PDSCH) including the at least one PT-RS, the at least one PT-RS being transmitted via the configured allocation of the first set of one.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device may generate a set of symbols, wherein each symbol of the set of symbols includes a first portion including data and a second portion including a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) sequence, wherein the second portion of each symbol is positioned at the end of the respective symbol. The wireless device may add, to a beginning of each symbol in the set of symbols, a cyclic prefix including the DMRS sequence in the second portion of the respective symbol. The wireless device may then transmit the set of symbols, including the cyclic prefix at the beginning of each respective symbol, in a burst over a wireless channel using a single-carrier waveform.

Abstract: In one aspect, an extended SSB (ESSB) is provided that includes more than four symbols to facilitate UE reception of SSBs. In this aspect, the base station configures an ESSB comprising an SSB including four symbols and an initial symbol preceding the SSB. The base station transmits and the UE receives at least a portion of the ESSB. The UE processes the ESSB. Thus, higher capacity UEs can benefit from additional coding gain in the initial symbol while lower capacity UEs can switch beams to receive back-to-back ESSBs. In another aspect, a UE performs additional behaviors to receive SSBs. In this aspect, the UE receives a first SSB using a reception beam, and the UE determines to maintain the reception beam for a second SSB or to switch the reception beam during a PSS symbol of the second SSB. Thus, lower capacity UEs can also receive back-to-back SSBs.
