摘要: A real-time contour detector and data acquisition system for an angiographic apparatus having a video scanner for converting an X-ray image of a structure characterized by a change in brightness level compared with its surrounding into video format and displaying the X-ray image in recurring video fields. The real-time contour detector and data acquisition system includes track and hold circuits adapted to be coupled to the video scanner for sampling the brightness level of predetermined sample points of the current video field in the region of the last detected border point; a reference level analog computer circuit connected to the track and hold circuits and responsive to the sampling of the brightness level of the predetermined sample points for generating a reference brightness level at which the next border point can be detected; and analog compartor connected to the reference level circuit for comparing the brightness level along a video scan line in the current video field with that of the reference brightness level to detect the next border point; a digital processor connected to the comparator and the track and hold circuits and responsive to the detection of a border point for enabling the comparator only within an area of the current video field covered by a narrow expectation window centered about the expected next border position and for determining the sample points to be sampled by the track and hold circuits; a field memory connected to and accessible by the processor for storing the coordinates of the detected border points in the preceding two video fields to partially define the center of the expectation window; and a computer interface connected to the comparators for storing the detected border points in the computer.

摘要: A facsimile receiver which may be acoustically coupled to a telephone transmission line comprises a preamplifier for amplifying frequency modulated signals. The output of the preamplifier is coupled to a demodulator comprising a single shot multivibrator and an average DC voltage detector connected to the output of the multivibrator. The output of the average DC voltage detector is applied to a stylus driver which controls the marking of a copy medium by a stylus. A signal quality detector and an indicator are coupled to the output of the preamplifier to provide an operator with an indication of poor signal reception quality.

摘要: The overall response of a television receiver is displayed on the face of the cathode ray tube of the receiver involved by test apparatus which requires electrical connection only to the antenna terminals of the television receiver and the mounting of a small light sensor unit onto the face of the cathode ray tube. The test apparatus generates an amplitude modulated signal having a video carrier frequency corresponding to that of a selected television channel. The amplitude modulated video carrier frequency signal includes an envelope containing synchronizing pulses for operating the sweep circuits of the television receiver in a normal manner and which clamps the automatic gain control circuits of the receiver to a desired level and a video signal to produce a given brightness reference background on the tube face which is preferably gray or black. Periodically, the main video carrier is interrupted for the generation of a constant amplitude test carrier frequency signal. This test carrier frequency signal progressively varies in frequency during successive fields, so the test carrier frequencies will scan through the entire band of frequencies for the channel involved. The points in time at which the main video carrier is periodically interrupted is controlled so that the beam trace or traces produce a rectangle of light resulting from the video signal detected from the test carrier frequency. This rectangle of light appears opposite the light sensor unit. The brightness of the rectangle of light during each field is a measure of the overall response of the radio frequency and intermediate frequency tuned circuits in the receiver at the test carrier frequency involved. The light sensor output from each field is stored and then utilized to modulate the video carrier to produce a response curve on a curve display area of the cathode ray tube.

摘要: A television monitor apparatus is disclosed which is capable of measuring a plurality of input television signals and the differences therebetween without disconnecting one input signal and connecting another. The television picture monitor apparatus includes a plurality of input connectors and amplifier circuits for selectably receiving and amplifying either one of the plurality of input signals or differences between selected two signals thereof by controlling a selection switch provided on a front panel of the television picture monitor apparatus. In the difference mode differential amplifiers employed for amplifying each input signal and the difference between selected two input signals remarkably reduce the common mode signal thereby providing accurate differences in time and color characteristics therebetween.

摘要: In a digitizing system, a line follower automatically follows a line or edge to be digitized and intermittently outputs data representing the coordinates of points spaced along the line. This coordinate information is supplied to a computer and, through the computer, to a recorder or other terminal device using such information. The computer memory temporarily stores, in a pushdown list, a plurality of the most recent sets of coordinate data supplied by the line follower. Should the line follower accidentally stray from the line being digitized, the operator, by appropriately conditioning the system, may cause the system to utilize the temporarily stored coordinate data to cause the line follower to be driven in a plotting or backspacing mode to retract its path of movement for return to a previously properly taken point on the line being digitized. Any erroneous coordinate data taken during the departure of the line follower from the line being digitized is erased or destroyed during the backspacing operation so that after the full digitizing operation is completed, the result is a clean record wherein the recorded data represents points located in succession along the digitized line without any ''''switch-backs'''' or undesirably large gaps in such data.

摘要: Detection devices for image analysis systems employing line scanning in which detection is in part governed by inspecting video signal from portions of scan lines intersecting a feature under analysis other than that currently being scanned. In one device a reference level voltage for threshold detection is generated by generating mean of the whitest and blackest signal levels of image portions immediately before and after that currently under analysis so that the reference threshold is constantly equated to the black and white content of the image under analysis. In another device the inspection of image portions before and after that currently under analysis allow a decision to be made as to whether the current portion is inside or outside a feature defined only by a boundary having an unsymmetrical density profile. Another system allows a tentative detection decision to be made from the information from one portion of a line scan and a final detection decision to be made after comparing the provisional decision with a later decision based on information from preceding and following line scanned portions relative to that on which the tentative decision was made.
