Abstract: A method for deblocking at least one boundary of a coding unit. The method includes determining that the coding unit uses a sub-block transform, wherein the sub-block transform generates a transform sub-block boundary within the coding unit, thereby forming at least a transform sub-block within the coding unit; as a result of determining that the coding unit uses the sub-block transform, determining a maximum filter length based on a dimension of the transform sub-block within the coding unit, wherein the maximum filter length indicates a maximum number of samples to modify when deblocking a boundary of the coding unit; and deblocking the boundary of the coding unit based on the determined maximum filter length.

Abstract: A system, method, and/or instrumentality may be provided for coding a 360-degree video. A picture of the 360-degree video may be received. The picture may include one or more faces associated with one or more projection formats. A first projection format indication may be received that indicates a first projection format may be associated with a first face. A second projection format indication may be received that indicates a second projection format may be associated with a second face. Based on the first projection format, a first transform function associated with the first face may be determined. Based on the second projection format, a second transform function associated with the second face may be determined. At least one decoding process may be performed on the first face using the first transform function and/or at least one decoding process may be performed on the second face using the second transform function.

Abstract: A three-dimensional data encoding method includes: (i) when a number of three-dimensional points included in point cloud data to be encoded is n that is greater than a predetermined number, n being an integer greater than or equal to 2, calculating an encoding coefficient by generating a hierarchical structure in which each of n pieces of attribute information on the three-dimensional points is sorted into one of a higher frequency component and a lower frequency component to be layered, and generating a bitstream including the encoding coefficient calculated in the calculating; and (ii) when a number of three-dimensional points included in the point cloud data is m that is smaller than or equal to the predetermined number, m being an integer greater than or equal to 1, generating a bitstream in accordance with m pieces of attribute information on the three-dimensional points without generating a hierarchy structure.

Abstract: An electronic apparatus performs a method of decoding video data, including receiving, from bitstream, a first syntax element in a slice header of a slice that indicates whether luma mapping with chroma scaling (LMCS) is applied to a coding unit in the slice; receiving a second syntax element for the coding unit that indicates whether the coding unit has been coded using adaptive color-space transform (ACT); if the second syntax element has a non-zero value, decoding the coding unit by applying inverse ACT to convert luma and chroma residuals of the coding unit from a transformed color space to an original color space of the video data; and if the first syntax element has a non-zero value, decoding the coding unit by performing inverse luma mapping to the luma samples and inverse scaling to the chroma residuals of the coding unit after performing the inverse ACT.
