摘要: Steam generators in power plants exchange energy from a primary medium to a secondary medium for energy extraction. Steam generators includes one or more primary conduits and one or more secondary conduits. The conduits do not intermix the mediums and may thus discriminate among different fluid sources and destinations. One conduit may boil feedwater while another reheats steam for use in lower and higher-pressure turbines, respectively. Valves and other selectors divert steam and/or water into the steam generator or to other turbines or the environment for load balancing and other operational characteristics. Conduits circulate around an interior perimeter of the steam generator immersed in the primary medium and may have different cross-sections, radii, and internal structures depending on contained. A water conduit may have less flow area and a tighter coil radius. A steam conduit may include a swirler and rivulet stopper to intermix water in any steam flow.

摘要: Apparatus for electric power generation. A system includes a boiler for heating a fluid, the boiler directing a first portion of the heated fluid to a turbine for the generation of electric power and a second portion of the heated fluid to a thermoelectric (TE) generator, and a condenser connected to the turbine that condenses hot fluid emitted from the turbine and feeds the condensed fluid to the TE generator, the TE generator generating electric power from a difference in temperature of the second portion of the heated fluid and the condensed fluid from the turbine.

摘要: A steam turbine installation that has a steam turbine, a steam generator and a feed water pre-heating unit operated by process steam is provided. The steam turbine has an overload bypass line with which main steam can be fed to the feed water pre-heating unit between the steam turbine input and the extraction point during overload operation of the steam turbine, wherein the feed water pre-heating unit has an auxiliary extraction line that is connected to the overload bypass line in such a way that process steam can be extracted from the steam turbine during partial load operation of the steam turbine and added to the feed water pre-heating unit for the additional pre-heating of feed water.

摘要: A method and apparatus for converting high pressure, high temperature elastic fuild (such as steam) to elastic fluid having a desired relatively low pressure and low temperature. Relatively high pressure, high temperature steam supplied from any point (preferably from a steam drum or equivalent location) in a steam cycle is initially throttled from a high temperature and pressure to a relatively intermediate temperature and pressure. Such intermediate temperature and pressure steam is routed through the tube side of a heat exchanger and subsequently throttled to a relatively low temperature and pressure. The resulting low temperature and pressure steam is then separated into its liquid and vapor phase components wherein the vapor phase is transmitted through the shell side of the heat exchanger and absorbs heat from the intermediate pressure, and temperature steam. The relatively low pressure, low temperature steam exiting the heat exchanger has the desired thermodynamic state. The temperature of the steam exiting the heat exchanger may be regulated by adjusting the high to intermediate pressure throttling device and the pressure of the low pressure steam exiting the heat exchanger may be regulated by adjusting the intermediate to low pressure throttling device. Such temperature and pressure regulation permits maintenance of steam temperature and pressure leaving the heat exchanger for varying temperatures and pressures of the relatively high pressure, high temperature steam supply. Such temperature and pressure maintenance enables elastic fluid utilizing devices to operate efficiently and reliably for fluctuating pressures and temperatures of the supply source.

摘要: A steam boiler system includes a steam air preheater disposed in inlet ducting for preheating intake air. A boiler feed pump provides high-pressure water to a boiler which in turn produces steam to drive a main turbine. Exhaust flow from the turbine is routed directly to a main condenser, with the exception of a small extraction flow which is used to drive a boiler feed pump turbine. Prior to returning to the condenser, the boiler feed pump turbine exhaust is conducted through the steam air preheater. As system conditions demand, the boiler feed pump turbine exhaust is sent directly to the condenser without going through the steam air preheater.

摘要: In order to prevent corrosion of economizers and the like structures carried in the output section of steam generators burning sulphur-containing fuel, the feed water circuit for the steam generator includes the usual heat exchangers followed by a deaerator feeding the economizers and the temperature of the water supplied by the deaerator to the economizers is raised on an adjustable extent above corrosion temperature by steam extracted from different points of the steam turbine. Gates controlled by the pressure in the deaerator control the flow of steam out of these different points to ensure the desired pressure and temperature in the deaerator.

摘要: A compound energy co-generation system converts forestry, agricultural, and similar biomass to energy at the source farm. A working fluid reserve at the base is coupled with a boiler inlet. The boiler has a combustion chamber, a vertically rising exhaust stack, and a liquid jacket around the combustion chamber and rising from the working fluid reserve. The liquid jacket receives thermal energy from the combustion chamber and converts a portion of the liquid working fluid into a gas to create a dual-phase working fluid. A reciprocal fluid container, which in one embodiment is a piston and in another is a sealed and insulated container, receives the elevated liquid working fluid. The change in weight drives a power conversion system to convert lowering of the fluid container into electrical energy. Additional ordinarily wasted energy components are employed to perform useful work to improve overall efficiency.
