Abstract: A power generation facility in an embodiment includes: a boiler; a high-pressure turbine to which steam generated in the boiler is introduced; a low-pressure turbine provided downstream of the high-pressure turbine; and a condenser that condenses steam discharged from the low-pressure turbine. The power generation facility further includes: a feed pipe that leads feedwater in the condenser to the boiler; a heat storage and steam generation device that has a heat storage function that uses surplus energy generated in an own system to store heat, and a steam generation function that has part of feedwater led by the feed pipe introduced thereinto and turns the feedwater into steam by the stored heat; and a steam supply pipe that supplies steam generated in the heat storage and steam generation device to an own system.

Abstract: A steam turbine system including a low pressure (LP) turbine has a plurality of moisture extraction points at which a steam-water mixture is extracted and passed through a respective one of a corresponding plurality of heat exchangers. Each exchanger passes the steam-water mixture in heat exchange relationship with feedwater in a feedwater conduit. A low pressure and low temperature final stage extraction point on the steam turbine is coupled to a condenser, and water collected at the condenser is directed into the feedwater conduit. The system separates at least some of the steam in the steam-water mixture from the final stage extraction point and passes this steam in heat exchange relationship with water in the feedwater conduit.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for improving a steam-to-steam reheat system employing the drain cooler concept in a steam turbine is disclosed. The large and complicated drain receiver of the prior art is eliminated, thereby removing a source of unreliable performance and internal flooding of MSR bundle drains. A drain cooler is utilized and its utility enhanced by installing a condensate bypass line with control valve which is used to adjust the condensing capability of the drain cooler in order to optimize the amount of scavenging steam for varying load conditions, thereby achieving an improvement in heat rate reduction.

Abstract: The system comprises a series of heaters arranged in cascade and fed with steam from drawoffs at pressures which progressively decrease from the steam boiler side to the condenser side of the plant.In order to improve the efficiency of the plant with which the system is associated, the system comprises a plurality of biphase turbines arranged in cascade. The first of the turbines is fed from the drain of the heater at the highest pressure and the following turbines are each fed at least in part with the outlet liquid of the biphase turbine preceding it. These biphase turbines produce mechanical energy by recovery of the kinetic energy of the condensates of the heaters feeding them.
