摘要: Provided is a continuous process for converting waste plastic into recycle for polypropylene polymerization. The process comprises selecting waste plastics containing polyethylene and/or polypropylene and preparing a blend of a bio feedstock and the selected plastic. The amount of plastic in the blend comprises no more than 20 wt. % of the blend. The blend is passed to a FCC unit. A liquid petroleum gas LPG olefin/paraffin mixture and naphtha are recovered from the FCC unit and can be passed on to make polypropylene.

摘要: A process and system are disclosed for increasing the rate of degradation of biopolymers in a solid waste depository, such as a landfill. A microorganism product, which can be an encapsulated product, is combined with the waste materials. The product contains one or more microorganisms that are designed to secrete an enzyme that degrades the biopolymer, which can be a polyhydroxybutyrate polymer. The microorganism can naturally secrete the enzyme or can be genetically modified to secrete the enzyme. The microorganisms or bacteria incorporated into the product are particularly selected in order to thrive in a particular environmental condition where the solid waste is located.

摘要: The present invention includes methods for preparing anticoagulant polysaccharides using several non-naturally occurring, engineered sulfotransferase enzymes that are designed to react with aryl sulfate compounds instead of the natural substrate, PAPS, to facilitate sulfo group transfer to polysaccharide sulfo group acceptors. Suitable aryl sulfate compounds include, but are not limited to, p-nitrophenyl sulfate or 4-nitrocatechol sulfate. Anticoagulant polysaccharides produced by methods of the present invention comprise N—, 3—O—, 6-O-sulfated glucosamine residues and 2-O sulfated hexuronic acid residues, have comparable anticoagulant activity compared to commercially-available anticoagulant polysaccharides, and can be utilized to form truncated anticoagulant polysaccharides having a reduced molecular weight.

Suitable aryl sulfate compounds include, but are not limited to, p-nitrophenyl sulfate or 4-nitrocatechol sulfate. Anticoagulant polysaccharides produced by methods of the present invention comprise N-, 3-O-, 6-O-sulfated glucosamine residues and 2-O sulfated hexuronic acid residues, have comparable anticoagulant activity compared to commercially-available anticoagulant polysaccharides, and can be utilized to form truncated anticoagulant polysaccharides having a reduced molecular weight.

摘要: A white polyester film and a method for manufacturing the same are provided. The white polyester film includes a physically recycled polyester resin and a chemically recycled polyester resin. The physically recycled polyester resin is formed by a plurality of physically recycled polyester chips. The chemically recycled polyester resin is formed by a plurality of chemically recycled polyester chips and mixed with the physically recycled polyester resin. The plurality of chemically recycled polyester chips further include chemically recycled electrostatic pinning polyester chips. The chemically recycled electrostatic pinning polyester chips contain electrostatic pinning additives, and the electrostatic pinning additives are metal salts. Expressed in percent by weight based on a total weight of the polyester film, a content of the electrostatic pinning additives in the polyester film is between 0.005% and 0.1% by weight. The polyester film further includes a white additive.

摘要: Methods for processing polyolefin recyclates including, but not limited to, polyethylene and polypropylene and compositions therefrom are provided. polyolefin recyclate feedstocks can be visbroken to improve processing characteristics and/or devolatilized to remove waste byproducts to produce processed polyolefin recyclates. Processed polyolefin recyclates are compounded with pre-consumer polyolefins to produce blend compositions having acceptable or even improved processing characteristics. Such pre-consumer polyolefins can also be visbroken to further tailor processing characteristics of such polymer blends. A combination of extruders and/or extruder zones can be used at the same or different locations for visbreaking and/or compounding of both polyolefin recyclate and/or pre-consumer polyolefins.
