Abstract:
An image reading apparatus a chassis, a sheet supporting unit disposed on the chassis configured to receive a sheet of a document placed thereon, a reading unit movably disposed on the chassis and configured to read an image on the sheet placed on the sheet supporting unit while moving in a predetermined direction, a reference member provided at a side portion of the sheet supporting unit, the sheet being placed on the sheet supporting unit such that one end of the sheet contacts the reference member, and an electrostatic capacitive touch key unit disposed on a side portion of the chassis is provided. Additionally, the reference member and the electrostatic capacitive touch key unit are arranged at opposite side portions, in the predetermined direction, of the chassis.
Abstract:
An image reading apparatus includes a casing, a light emitting section, a substrate, a support member, and a light guide. The light emitting section includes plural point light sources disposed in a row. The light emitting section is installed to a first face of the substrate. The support member is installed to the casing and supports a second face of the substrate at a projection portion where a position of the light emitting section is projected at the second face of the substrate. The light guide is installed to the casing adjacent to the light emitting section, and guides light from the light emitting section to a read-face.
Abstract:
An image reading apparatus includes a housing, a rod lens array, a light module and a sensor board. The housing accommodates the rod lens array, the light module and the sensor board. The sensor board includes a plurality of light sensor chips. The light module includes a light guide, a light source and guide terminals extending from the light source. The guide terminals are electrically connected to the sensor board with resilient contacts.

Abstract:
A contact image sensor is provided including a housing, a slit plate a lens, one or two light sources and a light-receiving element array mounted on a light-receiving element array substrate. The housing contains the slit plate, the lens, the one or two light sources and the light-receiving element array substrate. The optical system of the contact image sensor is aligned and one or more depressions are formed on an end of the substrate for the alignment. Power to the one or two light sources is applied through one or more leads. Each of the one or more depressions is large enough so that each of the leads can be passed through the respective depressions.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an image scanning module including a first unit, a second unit, and a third unit. The first unit having a light source is used for retrieving a first image. The second unit is used for generating a second image by focusing the first image. The third unit is used for generating an electric signal responsive to the second image. The first unit, the second unit, and the third unit are modules discrete from each other.
Abstract:
An image scanning apparatus that forms an optical image of a document with an image-forming lens onto an image sensor. In order to prevent deterioration in image-forming performance, the image scanning apparatus includes a restricting member for restricting displacement of the image-forming lens in the direction of the optical axis. The restricting member is provided on a supporting member for supporting the image-forming lens and the image sensor.
Abstract:
Vision systems including a swappable camera and methods of making and using the swappable camera are disclosed. The swappable camera can include an alignment indicator storing alignment data representative of an array-housing alignment of a sensor array relative to a camera housing. The swappable camera can have a desired sensor array position. A region of interest that is concentric with the desired sensor array position can be determined using the alignment data and an image can be acquired using only pixels of the sensor array that are located within the region of interest.
Abstract:
A contact image sensor unit includes: a light source (10) illuminating an original; a rod-like light guide (11) guiding light from the light source to the original; an imaging element (12) forming reflected light from the original on a plurality of photoelectric conversion elements; a sensor substrate (14) on which the plurality of photoelectric conversion elements are mounted; a frame (15) to which they are attached and which has a positioning part (200) for attaching the light guide (11) thereto; and a supporting member (16) which attachably/detachably supports the light guide (11) and is attachably/detachably attached to the positioning part (200). Since the light guide (11) can be attached to the frame (15) without using an adhesive, the deformation of the light guide (11), the warpage of the contact image sensor unit and so on can be prevented.
