Abstract: According to an aspect, a system for implementing a video clip service may include a video editor configured to receive a broadcast media stream and obtain a volume of social media engagements of a social media platform. The social media engagements include user engagements on the social media platform about the broadcast stream. The video editor may include a correlator configured to correlate the volume of social media engagements with a timeline of the broadcast media stream, a moment detector configured to detect one or more segments of the broadcast media stream using the volume of social media engagements, and a clip creator configured to automatically create a video clip with the one or more segments. The system may also include a video surfacer configured to provide the video clip for inclusion in a content stream of one or more users of the social media platform.

Abstract: Disclosed a method and a system for providing virtual reality (VR) video transcoding and broadcasting. The method comprises: obtaining a use's viewport; processing a VR video data into a basic video set and an enhancement video set in accordance with the user's viewport, wherein the basic video set comprises a plurality of basic video segments, the enhancement video set comprises a plurality of enhancement video segments, and the playback effect of the sum of the basic video segment and the enhancement video segment is better than that of the basic video segment; downloading the basic video segments and the enhancement video segments; and displaying a sum of two video data obtained by adding the basic video segments and the enhancement video segments in accordance with the user's viewport. According to the embodiments of the present disclosure, the VR video data is processed into a basic video set and an enhancement video set and an video data obtained by adding the basic video segments and the enhancement video segments in accordance with the user's viewport is displayed. Thus, viewing experience is ensured while downloaded data is reduced and transmission effect is improved.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media can identify a beginning portion and a remaining portion of a video to be encoded. A first constant quality variable bit rate encoding process can be applied to the beginning portion, based on a first set of encoding parameters, to produce an encoded beginning portion. A second constant quality variable bit rate encoding process can be applied to the remaining portion, based on a second set of encoding parameters, to produce an encoded remaining portion. The encoded beginning portion can be provided for video playback. The encoded remaining portion can be provided, when requested, for video playback subsequent to the encoded beginning portion.

Abstract: Computer program products, methods, systems, apparatus, and computing entities are provided for providing an enhanced media presentation. In one embodiment, an enhanced media presentation is provided. To provide the enhanced media presentation, one or more content items associated with subject matter associated with a segment of an enhanced media presentation are identified. Each content item may be associated with at least one uniform resource identifier. Then, a content object based at least in part on at least one content item is created. The content object is an abstract representation of the content item. The content object can be associated with the segment and provided for simultaneous displayed simultaneously with at least a portion of the segment.

Abstract: A method of adjusting video image data to reduce photosensitive epilepsy (“PSE”) triggers, the method including evaluating a sequence of video images to determine if the number of changes in brightness exceeding a predetermined threshold between contiguous images is greater than a predetermined value over a predetermined time or predetermined number of video images; and if the determined number exceeds the predetermined value then applying a correction procedure to the sequence of images. The correction procedure includes: for each image, applying a plurality of candidate brightness changes to the image and subsequently determining which of the applied changes result in the number of changes in brightness between contiguous images exceeding the predetermined threshold being reduced to below the predetermined value; and selecting the determined applied change having the smallest brightness change.

Abstract: According to an embodiment, a reproduction device includes an acquirer, a decoder, and a synthesizer. The acquirer is configured to acquire transmission information including first and second coded data. The first and second coded data are generated by encoding first and second image data, respectively. At least one of the first and the second image data is lossy encoded. The first and second image data being generated by performing conversion processes different from each other on original image data. The decoder is configured to decode the first and second coded data to generate first and second decoded data. The synthesizer is configured to synthesize the first and the second decoded data with adjusting pixel positions of the first and the second decoded data so that the pixel positions of the first and the second decoded data are identical to each other to generate reproduction image data.
