摘要： Systems and methods are described for retrieval and output of content in a way that addresses concerns with storing multiple copies or versions of a piece of content. The piece of content may have associated computer instructions that allow the client to access alternate portions of the piece of content during consumption. This allows the content provider to store a single copy of the complete piece of content while enabling consumers to access alternate audio or video portions of the content. A new playback architecture may execute instructions associated with a piece of content. Instructions associated with a piece of content may directly affect consumption by the consumer client and may be dependent upon user preferences or interests.

摘要： Systems and methods are described herein for recommending content restrictions to a user based on chatter in a social network of the user. The system analyzes chatter in the social network to identify a correlation between what is posted by users and the content that the users are posting about. The system stores a mapping between chatter and expected attributes of the content referenced by the chatter. The system will determine whether to block the content when an expected attribute is associated with a content restriction.

The user device can apply one or more rules to the received content based on the content metadata to modify one or more of the audio portion and the video portion of at least one section of the content, creating modified content, and can cause presentation of the modified content on a display device.

摘要： A system and method of providing enhanced content, for example, when a viewer may not match with a program in order to make a viewer comfortable and encourage the viewer to continue to consume the program. The system accesses a viewer profile and accesses content to provide for consumption. The system calculates a match score for the content based on the viewer profile and determines if the match score is below a predetermined threshold. If the match score is lower than the threshold, the system generates an enhanced program from the content based on viewer profile and provides the enhanced program for consumption. Enhanced content may include omitting scenes with violence, modifying dialogue with vulgarities, focusing on scenes with preferred actors or setting, adding external content, and other modifications.

Opening and closing credit scenes, for example, can be automatically skipped to thereby allow the viewer to progress through the entire season of programming at an even faster rate than was previously thought possible. Programming to be skipped may be identified by detecting audio or other digital fingerprints in the content itself, for example. Content to be skipped may be identified to the playback device according to anchor points or other references in the programming itself.

摘要： Augmenting a video stream of an environment is provided, the environment containing a private entity to be augmented. Video of the environment is processed in accordance with an entity recognition process to identify the presence of at least part of an entity in the environment. It is determined whether the identified entity is to be augmented based on information relating to the identified entity and the private entity. Based on determining that the identified entity is to be augmented, the video stream is modified to replace at least a portion of the identified entity with a graphical element adapted to obscure the portion of the identified entity in the video stream. By modifying the video stream to obscure an entity, private or personal information in the environment may be prevented from being displayed to a viewer of the video stream.
