Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, apparatus, article of manufacture, method and/or computer program product embodiments, and/or combinations and sub-combinations thereof, for performing adaptive audio bitrate selection. An example embodiment operates by receiving a data streaming request. The embodiment then streams data at a first audio bitrate. The embodiment then determines whether there is a streaming discontinuity associated with the data. The embodiment then determines, in response to the determination that there is a streaming discontinuity, whether a network condition satisfies one or more conditions based on one or more streaming parameters. The embodiment then, in response to the determination that the network condition satisfies the one or more conditions, adjusts the first audio bitrate to a second audio bitrate during the streaming discontinuity. The embodiment then continues to stream the data, subsequent to the streaming discontinuity, at the second audio bitrate to complete the data streaming request.

There are provided a Video decoder which decodes signal from the Video Stream for the representation of the audio and video scene; an Audio decoder which decodes signal from the Audio Stream for the representation of the audio and video scene to the user; and a region of interest processor deciding, based e.g. on the user's viewport, head orientation, movement data, or metadata, whether an Audio information message is to be reproduced. At the decision, the reproduction of the Audio information message is caused.

Abstract: Audio video synchronization and alignment or alignment of audio to some other external clock are rendered more effective or easier by treating fragment grid and frame grid as independent values, but, nevertheless, for each fragment the frame grid is aligned to the respective fragment's beginning. A compression effectiveness lost may be kept low when appropriately selecting the fragment size. On the other hand, the alignment of the frame grid with respect to the fragments' beginnings allows for an easy and fragment-synchronized way of handling the fragments in connection with, for example, parallel audio video streaming, bitrate adaptive streaming or the like.

Abstract: A system may receive a plurality of requests to record a plurality of programs. Based on these requests, resources may be provisioned for transcoding variable bit rate streams into constant bit rate streams. Resources may be provisioned based on assigning transcoding tasks to an existing set of deployed devices in which the transcoding tasks correspond to the plurality of requests. Resources may further be provisioned based on incrementally deploying an additional device to the existing set of deployed devices when the transcoding capacity reaches a certain level.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for converting audio-video content into audio-only content. Audio-video content is readily accessible, but for various reasons users often cannot consume content visually. In those circumstances, for example, when a user is interrupted during a movie to drive to pick up a spouse or child, the user may not want to forego consuming the audio-video content. The audio-video content can be converted into audio only content for the user to aurally consume, allowing the user to consume the content despite interruptions or other reasons for which the audio-video content cannot be consumed visually.

Abstract: A system for low-latency detection of known audio-video content in multiple audio-video streams, received over a transport multiplex wherein multiple advertisements of different durations are being transmitted over a network. The system includes an ingest module, repositories of content assets, repositories of advertisement assets, a playout server, and network streams. A Watermarking and Fingerprinting (WMFP) module receives multiple advertisements A having audio-video streams, from a Master AV Database, placing an audio watermark on the incoming streams and extracting a high-confidence fingerprint (signature) from each of the watermarked assets A′. Communicating fingerprint signatures and replacement rules to one or more receivers over the Internet. One or more receivers at different locations actively replace detected advertisements having AV content, using a signature detector, with local content assets. The system provides a high confidence match without the disadvantage of an extended and expensive extraction time or false matches.

Abstract: Disclosed a method and a system for real-time rendering displaying virtual reality (VR) using head-up display devices. The method comprises: obtaining relevant parameters including a camera matrix, a projection matrix, a model matrix and a center position of lens distortion; creating a 3D model and obtaining an original coordinate data of the 3D model; obtaining first coordinate data in accordance with the relevant parameters and the original coordinate data of the 3D model; performing lens distortion on the first coordinate data based on the center position of lens distortion to obtain second coordinate data; rasterizing the second coordinate data to obtain pixel information; and drawing an image in accordance with a VR video data and the pixel information. According to the present disclosure, the lens distortion on the coordinate data is performed in the 3D model, so that video and immersive rendering can be realized in one processing, thereby improving rendering efficiency.

Abstract: A method for downloading a VR video is disclosed. The method comprises: receiving a play request for a first video; calculating an average download speed; selecting a plurality of first video segments from a plurality of video segments of the first video according to the average download speed, wherein the plurality of video segments of the first video correspond to different resolutions and bitrates; determining a download link according to the plurality of first video segments; and downloading the plurality of first video segments according to the download link. The video segments, which need to be downloaded, are determined according to the average download speed, so that the amount of downloaded data can be decreased and the video transmission can be optimized. The present disclosure also provides a system for downloading a VR video.

Abstract: A video processing method includes receiving a multimedia file including a first video file encrypted with a first compression algorithm and converting the first video file to a second video file, which is encrypted with a second compression algorithm. The method includes extracting, from the second file, video data indicative of at least one video characteristic of the second file and displaying the video data on a display screen or forwarding the video data to a content insertion server. The first video compression algorithm may be a MPEG-2 video compression algorithm and the second video compression algorithm may be an H.264 algorithm and/o an H.265 algorithm. The video data may include run time data indicative of a run time of the second video file, frame rate data indicative of a frame rate of the second video file, and pixel data indicative of a resolution of the second video file.
