    摘要: The present invention provides a switchable gain amplifier comprising a high-pass filter pole. The switchable gain amplifier comprises first and second input nodes for receiving first and second components of a differential input signal. A first input terminal of a first differential amplifier is coupled to the first input node, and a first input terminal of a second differential amplifier is coupled to the second input node. A first variable resistance is coupled between the first input terminal of the first differential amplifier and a second input terminal of the first differential amplifier. A second variable resistance is coupled between the first input terminal of the second differential amplifier and a second input terminal of the second differential amplifier. A differential capacitor is coupled between the second input terminal of the first differential amplifier and the second input terminal of the second differential amplifier.

    摘要: A radio receiver includes a branching unit, a first gain-control system, a second-gain control system, and a signal processing unit. The branching unit branches a radio signal received by the radio receiver into two signals. The first-gain control system performs a gain control of a pilot signal in one of branched signals, and the second gain control system performs a gain control of a data signal in another of the branched signals. The signal processing unit synchronizes frames in the received radio signal. The signal processing unit outputs a gain signal to each of the first gain-control system and the second gain-control system. The first gain-control system and the second gain-control system perform the gain controls based on the gain signal.

    摘要: The present invention discloses a proactive gain control system for a communications receiver. The proactive gain control system includes a variable gain module for outputting an output signal in response to an input signal. A detector detects the output signal and outputs a detection signal representing a signal strength of the output signal. A traffic monitor monitors the output signal and outputs a traffic profile signal indicating that a traffic profile for the input signal will change. A gain computing module outputs a gain adjustment value in response to the detection signal and the traffic profile signal. A gain control module outputs a gain control signal to the variable gain module, which determines a gain between the input and output signals, in response to the gain adjustment value.

The received signal power is estimated by digital signal processing after analog-to-digital conversion in the system, in order to adjust the gain of the front end analog signal until the magnitude of the analog signal is adjusted to an optimum range of the digital signal processing.
