Abstract:
An apparatus for the mechanical cleaning of liquids, especially cooling water delivered from a heat exchanger and flowing in a pipeline (10), with a rotationally symmetrical, conical sieve (12) of substantially the size of the pipe diameter, as well as a coaxial suction device (20) which is disposed on the upstream side of the sieve, is mounted for rotation continuously or with interruptions for the duration of a cleaning interval, and during the cleaning interval sucks bit by bit the entire surface of the sieve (12) on the upstream side, the sieve (12) being divided into areas, the intake nozzle (22) of the suction device (20) can cover each area, and in each area of the actual sieve surface and of the suction device there is a cavity for the temporary accommodation of contaminants, the sieve (12) being divided on its upstream side by substantially radial barriers (36) into individual sectors forming the areas, the intake nozzle (22) of the suction device (20) has such a shape that, at the moment in which the intake nozzle just covers one sector, and leaves adjacent sectors substantially free, the gap between the free barrier edges and the edges of the intake nozzle (22) of the suction device (20) is spanned by flexible sealing lips (44) of at least the height of the gap. Preferably the apex (61) of the cone has no barriers (36) and the ends of the barriers (36) disposed in the remaining area have no terminations, so that funnel-shaped chutes (63) result which are open on the upstream and downstream ends, so that hard contaminants, such as stones, mussels, will slide along the sieve surface (64) into the barrier-free cone apex (61) and are there sucked away from the opening (62) present in the coupling tube (24).

Abstract:
A device for diverting discrete cleaning bodies carried in a fluid flowing through a tubular heat exchanger from the main stream of the fluid consisting of a diverter casing through which an axial current flows and a separating sieve system disposed therein having at least one sieve surface disposed at an angle to the flow and terminating at the downstream end in a lateral outlet connection. The at least one sieve surface being pivotable for cleaning purposes to such an extent that the sieve surface that was on the upstream side comes to be situated on the downstream side. The at least one sieve surface terminates in the vicinity of the diverter casing wall and a transition surface is disposed between the upstream sieve surface and the casing wall, the radius of curvature or angle between the transition surface and the casing wall being selected such that the cleaning bodies are prevented from becoming wedged.
Abstract:
A device is described for mechanically cleaning fluids, especially for [cleaning] the cooling water that enters a heat exchanger, having a pipe segment (12) as housing, a sieve element (20) that essentially covers the cross section of the pipe, and a suction device (20) on influx side (22) that is capable of moving around an axle (18), the purpose of the device being to aspirate the surface area of sieve element (16) and in this manner clean it, wherein, according to the invention, sieve element (16) forms a partially cylindrical casing having a cylindrical axle (56) perpendicular to axle (24) of pipe segment (12), wherein the open part of cylindrical casing (16) is arranged toward influx side (22) (FIGS. 1, 2).
Abstract:
The invention pertains to a device to separate solid materials from a stream of liquid, particularly from cooling water. In the case of the known devices, difficulties occur in cleaning the filter from fibrous contaminants generally or starting with a certain size. The subject device draws off fibrous as well as coarse grained contaminants equally well.A preferably funnel shaped filter 3 with a suction device 4 running at an angle to the surface line 6 of the funnel filter 3 is arranged in a pipe shaped housing. The inclination creates a force component 19 which transports the coarse grained contaminants to the tip of the filter where they are drawn off by the suction opening 8 of the suction rotor 7. The fibrous contaminants are drawn off by the suction device 4.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for cleaning the pipes of heat-exchangers by means of cleaning bodies, generally sponge balls. The removal and reintroduction of the cleaning bodies occurs with the aid of a device installed in the outlet pipe, which consists of a casing (1) with one or two screens (2) arranged within it. The screens (2) end on the downstream side at a pipe (3) with an opening (4). Inside this pipe (3) there is another pipe (5) with an opening (6) which preferably rotates continuously. The cleaning bodies (9) are collected in the inner pipe (5). A pressure water pipe (7) and a cleaning body outlet pipe (8) are connected to the outer pipe (3). When the inner pipe (5) is in the appropriate position, the cleaning bodies (9) are washed out of the inner pipe (5) by pressure water and introduced into the inlet pipe of the heat-exchanger via the cleaning body outlet pipe (8). A lock (11) is built into the cleaning body return pipe in order to introduce and remove the cleaning bodies (9).

Abstract:
The invention provides for an automatically releasing mounting system by dint of which a weight member may be releasably connected to a fishing-line. The mounting system comprises a receptacle resiliently biassed into essentially conical shape. Wall portions of the receptacle are interconnected by a pivotal joint near the upper end thereof, while latch apparatus are provided to releasably connect the lower ends of the wall portions. The latch apparatus include a latch member having a wing formed integral thereto. When the receptacle hits the surface of the water, the relative movement between the water and the wing portion of the latch member will cause moving of the latch member out of the associated latch-catch. Thus the wall portions of the receptacle cooperating in defining the lower aperture of the container can expand. The receptacle including the latch apparatus can be molded as a single essentially flat part. In order to keep this molded part having been correspondingly bended in the conical or cylindrical configuration the pivotal joint is formed by two members associated to one of the wall portions, respectively, and being adapted for releasable mutual engagement.
Abstract:
At least one embodiment of the invention relates to a protective circuit for protection of an appliance, in particular of an electric motor, against thermal overloading. In at least one embodiment, the protective circuit includes a first and a second terminal for connecting a temperature detection element; a detection unit for detecting whether a resistance value of the temperature detector element which is connected between the first and the second terminals, is in a first or a second resistance range; a short-circuit detector for identifying whether there is a short circuit between the first and the second terminals; signaling outputs for emitting signal messages to an evaluation unit when the detected resistance value is in the second resistance range and/or when a short circuit has been identified by the short-circuit detector; and a third terminal, which is connected to the second terminal via a predetermined resistance.
