摘要: A driving device, small in size and light in weight, is to stabilize the position of a surface-deforming element while reducing the effect of gravity thus enabling stable transfer and positioning. The driving device is structured to hold a movable member integrated with a piezoelectric vibrator and a lens by a shaft provided at a tip of a spring extended from an inner surface to center of a passageway. The shaft extends through an opening formed in a protrusion of the movable member. By a tensile force of the spring, the movable member at its outer periphery is pulled radially and held. When applying a voltage with a waveform changing sharply to the piezoelectric vibrator, the movable member flexes maximally upward or downward to have a reduced diameter and an increasing acceleration thereby making a movement. Then, when a frictional force increases, the protrusion is held at a point where the movable member moves. Because of being held by a tensile force, the effect of gravity decreases and hence the movable member is stabilized in position relative to a direction of transfer.

摘要: A microcomputer capable of reducing a board area, enhancing the security, and improving the usability is provided. A microcomputer to be used in a notebook PC is disclosed, in which programs of a keyboard/power management BIOS and a system BIOS are stored in a built-in flash memory ROM. In order to set read (R)/write (W) protect to the BIOSes stored in the flash memory ROM, a read/write protect setting register is provided, and at initial setting after the release of reset, flags of R/W permission, R permission/W prohibition, W permission/R prohibition, and R/W prohibition are set to this register by a central processing unit CPU. By doing so, it becomes possible to achieve protection such as the prevention of error writing of the BIOS and the like between a host machine and the flash memory ROM via a LPC bus.

摘要: A piezoelectric transformer comprises one or more input parts having first internal electrodes and input terminals and an output part having second internal electrodes and output terminals. Each of the second internal electrodes has an area larger than that of each of the first internal electrodes. By such configuration, output power is increased while heat generation is suppressed and size thereof is not increased.

摘要: A monolithic capacitor having a dielectric ceramic body cosintered with at least two base metal electrodes. The ceramic body is composed of a major ingredient expressed by the formula(1-.alpha.){(Ba.sub.k-x M.sub.x)O.sub.k (Ti.sub.1-y R.sub.y)O.sub.2-(y/2) }+.alpha.CaZrO.sub.3where M is either or both of magnesium and zinc, R is a rare earth element or elements, and .alpha., k, x and y are numerals in specified ranges. To this major ingredient is added a minor proportion of a first additive ingredient and a second additive ingredient. The first additive ingredient is at least either of chromium oxide and aluminum oxide. The second additive ingredient is a mixture of boric oxide or lithium oxide, silicon dioxide and at least one metal oxide selected from among barium oxide, strontium oxide, calcium oxide, magnesium oxide and zinc oxide. For the fabrication of capacitors the mixture of the above major ingredient and additives in finely divided form are formed into moldings of desired shape and size, each with at least two electrodes buried therein. The moldings and electrodes are cosintered in a reductive or neutral atmosphere at temperatures of less than 1200 degrees C. and then are heated at a lower temperature in an oxidative atmosphere.

The moldings and electrodes are cosintered in a reductive or neutral atmosphere and then are reheated at a lower temperature in an oxidative atmosphere. The cosintering temperature can be so low that nickel or like base metal can be employed as the electrode material.
