A portable terminal, including a first housing including opposing first and second sides, a second housing including opposing first and second sides, a hinge connecting the first sides of the first and second housings, a flexible display including a first end disposed in the second side the first housing, a second end disposed in the second side of the second housing, and a driver configured to drive the display, wherein the first housing and the second housing are configured to rotate on the hinge to form an angle in therebetween such that a corresponding portion of the display is exposed, and the driver is configured to output driving signals corresponding to the angle to the flexible display, such an image is displayed on the exposed portion of the flexible display.

A foldable display device is disclosed. In one aspect, the foldable display device includes a display panel and a window panel on the display panel. The window panel includes a folding area and a flat area adjacent to at least one side of the folding area. The flat area is less flexible than the folding area. An elastic modulus of the folding area is less than an elastic modulus of the flat area. The window panel includes a plurality of layers including a first layer, wherein a first thickness of the first layer in the folding area is different from a second thickness of the first layer in the flat area.

A foldable display is disclosed. In one aspect, the foldable display includes a base substrate including a flexible area and a rigid area disposed at one or more sides of the flexible area. The foldable display also includes an image display device provided on the base substrate. The base substrate includes a matrix and a textile implanted in the matrix. The textile includes a flexible part corresponding to the flexible area and a rigid part corresponding to the rigid area. The rigid part is weaved differently from the flexible part.

A flexible touch screen panel includes a window substrate, a polarizing functional layer, sensing patterns and sensing lines. The window substrate is flexible. The polarizing functional layer is attached on a first surface of the window substrate, and is divided into an active area and an inactive area positioned outside of the active area. The sensing patterns are formed in the active area on a first surface of the polarizing functional layer. The sensing lines are formed in the inactive area on the first surface of the polarizing functional layer, and are connected to the sensing patterns. In the touch screen panel, the polarizing functional layer has a laminated structure in which a polarizer and a retardation compensation film are attached on the first surface of the window substrate.
