    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) uses conditional reconfiguration during positioning to improve the positioning performance. The UE receives conditional reconfiguration information from a serving base station, which includes a list one or more candidate target base stations and their associated resources for handover. During a positioning session, the UE receives assistance data and determines a target base station for handover based on the list of candidate target base stations and the assistance data. The UE, for example, may select a candidate target base station for handover during the positioning session to minimize the number of measurements gaps that are required for positioning measurements, or to increase bandwidth or minimize self-interference. Where timing advance measurements are requested, the UE may select a candidate target base station based on sub-carrier spacing to improve measurement resolution.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) communicating with a first base station via a first radio bearer and a second bases station via a second radio bearer is disclosed. Uplink data transmissions using the radio bearers may be controlled by a threshold. During a positioning session to locate the UE, the UE may modify the threshold to cause the UE to use both the first radio bearer and the second radio bearer. The UE may return the threshold to an original value after the positioning session.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) enhances positioning performance using Evolved Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) Terrestrial Radio Access Network (E-UTRAN) New Radio (NR)—Dual connectivity (EN-DC) based on an indication from the E-UTRAN base station that it is capable of EN-DC, e.g., in the upper layer indication of SIB2. When in idle mode, a UE that supports EN-DC and that has multiple carrier subscriptions may check the availability of EN-DC on both subscriptions that are camped on E-UTRAN base stations and use the subscription with EN-DC when a positioning session is initiated, e.g., from an emergency call. If one subscription is camped on a E-UTRAN base station and the other on an NR base station, the UE may use the E-UTRAN base station if EN-DC is supported or may use the NR base station if EONR and location based services are supported. A list of E-UTRAN base stations capable of EN-DC may be generated and used for selections of base stations to connect to or to prioritize during a handover procedure.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) is configured to be connected to multiple wireless networks, including e.g., a 5G New Radio (NR) network and an Evolved Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) Terrestrial Radio Access Network (E-UTRAN).     Abstract: A user equipment (UE) is configured to be connected to a 5G New Radio (NR) network that shares one or more frequency bands using dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS) with a Long Term Evolution (LTE) network that is transmitting LTE positioning reference signal (PRS). The UE may receive LTE PRS rate matching information from the NR network, such as the LTE PRS configuration data or an LTE PRS rate matching pattern. The UE may decode and process NR data signals and control signals transmitted by the NR network while LTE PRS is transmitted by rate matching around the LTE PRS in accordance with the LTE PRS rate matching information. The LTE PRS muting pattern may be adjusted based on NR data or control signals, and the UE may receive and process NR data and control signals transmitted while the LTE PRS is muted.
