    Abstract: An example device includes memory and one or more processors implemented in circuitry and communicatively coupled to the memory. The one or more processors are configured to receive a first slice header syntax element for a slice of the video data and determine a first value for the first slice header syntax element, the first value being indicative of whether dependent quantization is enabled. The one or more processors are configured to receive a second slice header syntax element for the slice of the video data and determine a second value for the second slice header syntax element, the second value being indicative of whether sign data hiding is enabled. The one or more processors are configured to determine whether transform skip residual coding is disabled for the slice based on the first value and the second value and decode the slice based on the determinations.

    Abstract: An example device for requesting a reduced resolution for video data includes a memory configured to store video data; and one or more processors implemented in circuitry and configured to: decode a first sequence of pictures of a bitstream, the first sequence of pictures having a first resolution; in response to determining that the device is to enter a power saving mode, send a message requesting a reduced resolution relative to the first resolution for a second sequence of pictures, the second sequence of pictures being subsequent to the first sequence of pictures in coding order; and decode the second sequence of pictures of the video data of the bitstream, the second sequence of pictures having the reduced resolution. The reduced resolution may be reduced spatial resolution, reduced temporal resolution (frame rate), or both.

    Abstract: An example device for decoding video data includes a memory configured to store video data; and one or more processors implemented in circuitry and configured to: determine a size of a current block of video data; determine an intra-prediction mode for the current block of video data; determine a mode group including the determined intra-prediction mode, the mode group being one of a plurality of mode groups, each including respective sets of intra-prediction modes; determine a set of available multiple transform selection (MTS) schemes for the current block according to the size and the intra-prediction mode for the current block; determine an MTS scheme from the set of available MTS schemes according to the determined mode group; apply transforms of the MTS scheme to a transform block of the current block to produce a residual block for the current block; and decode the current block using the residual block.

    Abstract: A device is configured to modify, based on chroma phase shifts in a horizontal direction, a horizontal component of a chroma location pointed to by a motion vector of a current block of a current picture. The chroma location is in a reference picture that has a different resolution or a different chroma sampling type from the current picture. The device may modify, based on chroma phase shifts in a vertical direction, a vertical component of the chroma location. Additionally, the device may generate, based on chroma samples of the reference picture corresponding to a modified chroma location chroma samples of a prediction block for a current block of the current picture. The modified chroma location is defined by the modified horizontal and vertical components of the chroma location. The device may code the current block based on the prediction block for the current block.

    Abstract: An example method includes, receiving an encoded picture of 360-degree video data, the encoded picture of 360-degree video data being arranged in packed faces obtained from a projection of a sphere of the 360-degree video data; decoding the picture of encoded 360-degree video data to obtain a reconstructed picture of 360-degree video data, the reconstructed picture of 360-degree video data being arranged in the packed faces; padding the reconstructed picture of 360-degree video data to generate a padded reconstructed picture of 360-degree video data; in-loop filtering the padded reconstructed picture of 360-degree video data to generate a padded and filtered reconstructed picture of 360-degree video data; and storing the padded and filtered reconstructed picture of 360-degree video data in a reference picture memory for use in predicting subsequent pictures of 360-degree video data.
