Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for sending, from an upper layer at a transmitting device to a lower layer at the transmitting device, an indication by which the lower layer determines that a packet is to be transmitted as either an initial transmission or as a retransmission. The lower layer at the transmitting device may then determine a transmission process for transmitting the packet based on the indication, and the transmitting device may transmit the packet in accordance with the transmission process. Because the lower layer may identify whether the packet is to be transmitted as either the initial transmission or the retransmission, the lower layer may adapt the transmission process to improve the chances that the packet is received by a receiving device or to limit overhead.

Abstract: An apparatus for receiving wireless communication at a first UE from a first wireless device may include a memory and at least one processor coupled to the memory. The memory and the at least one processor may be configured to receive a user grouping identifying a second UE that communicates with a second wireless device. The memory and the at least one processor may be further configured to receive a control transmission between the second UE and the second wireless device indicating a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) and allocated resources for the second wireless device. The memory and the at least one processor may be further configured to apply interference cancellation on at least one of a resource element (RE) or a resource block (RB) received from the first wireless device based on the MCS and allocated resources for the second wireless device.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, a base station may configure a user equipment (UE) with a time to trigger (TTT) and a signal quality threshold. The UE may determine whether one or more conditions are satisfied, and if so, transmit an early measurement report or ignore a conflicting procedure that renders the measurements unavailable. In some examples, a UE may receive an indication of a minimum TTT in a configuration message with the TTT and the signal quality threshold. The UE may indicate an updated timing, to a base station, based on the minimum TTT. In some examples, the base station may determine that a UE is a multi-subscriber identification module (MSIM) UE, and may configure the duration of the TTT accordingly.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. One method of dynamically mapping encoded packets may include a base station identifying a set of encoded packets from a set of source packets. The base station may map subsets of the encoded packets onto a first and a second set of resources using different coding rates. In some examples, the base station may schedule one or more resources from the second set of resources for receiving feedback from one or more user equipments (UEs). In some examples, the base station may identify a second set of encoded packets from a second set of source packets and may map the second set of encoded packets onto the second set of resources and a third set of resources. A UE may recover the first or second sets of source packets based on the encoded packets transmitted by the base station.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of a first common frequency resource (CFR) within a bandwidth part (BWP) and a second CFR within the BWP. Accordingly, the UE may receive, using a first numerology, a non-group-common communication at least partially in the BWP. The UE may also receive, using the first numerology, a group-common communication at least partially in the first CFR, and receive, using a second numerology, a group-common communication at least partially in the second CFR. As an alternative, the UE may receive an indication of a CFR within a BWP. Accordingly, the UE may receive, using a first numerology, a non-group-common communication in the BWP and a first group-common communication in the CFR, and receive, using a second numerology, a second group-common communication in the CFR. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: Aspects present herein relate to methods and devices for wireless communication including an apparatus, e.g., a UE. The apparatus may transmit, to at least one of a network node or a network entity, an indication of one or more future network slices, an indication of one or more current network slices, and/or an indication of one or more past network slices, the future network slices corresponding to network slices for potential future use by the UE, the current network slices corresponding to network slices that are currently used by the UE, the past network slices corresponding to network slices that were previously used by the UE. The apparatus may also receive, from the network entity, a response to the indication of the one or more future network slices, the indication of the one or more current network slices, and/or the indication of the one or more past network slices.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a measurement configuration for a service interruption measurement regarding a handover of the UE from a source cell to a target cell. The UE may transmit measurement information that identifies at least one of the service interruption measurement or a time value used to determine the service interruption measurement. Numerous other aspects are provided.
