Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for packet buffering. A method that may be performed by a receiving node includes dynamically determining one or more time durations to buffer packets. The one or more time durations can be different than a time duration of a configured timer for buffering the packets. The receiving node may input one or more parameters to a machine learning algorithm and obtain, as output of the machine learning algorithm based on the input one or more parameters, one or more time durations to buffer packets. The receiving node buffers packets for the determined one or more time durations. The receiving node may use machine learning to dynamically determine the one or more time durations to buffer packet. The buffering may be at a radio link control (RLC) reassembling buffer and/or a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) buffer.

Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for facilitating network slice based reselection using machine learning are disclosed herein. An example method for wireless communication at a UE includes predicting a next active PDU session of two or more PDU sessions based on next connection setup times for each PDU session. The next connection setup times may be estimated based on connection setup events occurring over a period. The example method also includes selecting a frequency channel to camp on based on the next active PDU session.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are disclosed by the present application. A request to establish a call using a first connection may be received, the first connection using a first radio access technology to communicate with a radio access network. During execution of a procedure to establish the call, a command to handover communications from the first connection to a second connection that uses a second radio access technology to communicate with the radio access network may be received. The second connection may be established in response to the command, and a message indicating that the request to establish the call was successfully received may be transmitted over the second connection. Also, a message indicating that an alert of the call is being issued may be transmitted over the second connection.

Abstract: Wireless communication systems and methods related to Radio Link Control (RLC) status reporting are provided. A wireless communication device receives one or more radio link control (RLC) packet data units (PDUs) of a sequence of RLC PDUs. The wireless communication device determines missing RLC data PDUs in the sequence of RLC PDUs based on the received one or more RLC PDUs. The wireless communication device receives a first uplink (UL) grant. The wireless communication device transmits a first RLC status report including an indication of a first subset of the missing RLC PDUs less than all the missing RLC PDUs, the indication of the first subset of missing PDUs being based on a size of the first UL grant. The wireless communication device modifies a RLC status prohibit timer based on the transmitted first RLC status report indicating less than all the missing RLC PDUs.
