Abstract:
A tool holder is adapted for attachment to a C-shaped suspension bar. In at least one embodiment, the tool holder includes a hook device for suspending an object and a fastening device which enables the hook device to be releasably attached to the suspension bar. The fastening device includes a first and a second portion for retaining engagement with the web of the suspension bar and its respective flanges. The first portion forms the upper portion of the fastening device, when mounted, to which portion the hook device is fixedly attached either directly or indirectly. The second portion of the fastening device is pivotally attached to the first portion via a joint, which, with the tool holder in its mounted state, is oriented parallel with and located between the flanges of the suspension bar.
Abstract:
A vehicle brake system includes a brake actuator associated with a wheel, the brake actuator having at least one moveable brake component, and a brake control system operative to determine a target rotational velocity of the wheel based at least in part on a relationship between an actual tire/road friction force and a target tire/road friction force, the brake control system determining a target position of the at least one moveable brake component based at least in part upon the target rotational velocity. The brake control system is operable to control actuation of the brake actuator based at least in part upon the target position of the at least one moveable brake component and at least in part based upon a current position of the at least one moveable brake component.
Abstract:
A braking system includes a power supply supplying electrical power, and first and second brake components at least partially operated by electrical power. A first power supply network electrically connects the power supply and the first brake component, and a second power supply network electrically connects the power supply and the second brake component, the power supply networks being adapted to transmit the electrical power from the power supply to the first and second brake components respectively. An auxiliary power supply link is activatable to electrically connect the first power supply network and the second power supply network only when a failure occurs in one of the first power supply network or the second power supply network, the auxiliary power supply link adapted to transmit the electrical power between the first power supply network and the second power supply network only when the failure occurs.
Abstract:
A self-supporting suspension device may include vertically oriented columns. The columns may be releasably fastened to one or two feet by being inserted into slots of the respective feet and by surrounding a portion thereof. A stabilisation element may be fastened to two adjacent columns for lateral stability of the suspension device, and a locking beam or the stabilisation element may increase the torsional rigidity of the columns.
Abstract:
A brake monitoring and control system includes a brake pad adapted to frictionally engage a brake disc when the brake is applied, a motor operatively attached to the brake pad, the motor causing the brake pad to be located in an unapplied position in response to a compensation signal and causing the brake pad to move to an applied position in response to a control signal, and an electronic control unit in communication with the motor. The electronic control unit receives, from a motor position sensor, motor position indicative signals indicative of an angular position of the motor when the brake pad is in the applied position, and calculates the compensation signal based at least in part upon the angular position of the motor when the brake pad is in the applied position.
Abstract:
A complex between a conjugated polyelectrolyte, and one or more receptor molecules specific for a target biomolecule analyte, the polyelectrolyte and the receptor being non-covalently bound to each other, is usable as a probe for biomolecular interactions. It also relates to a method of determining selected properties of biomolecules. Thereby, a complex as above is exposed to a target biomolecule analyte whereby the analyte and the receptor interact, and a change of a property of the polyelectrolyte in response to the interaction between the receptor and the analyte is detected. The detected change is used to determine the selected property of the biomolecule.
Abstract:
An electrical control network is laid over one or more vehicle dynamics control and/or ride control systems of a heavy vehicle, which control network controls actuation of components thereof. The invention offers many advantages including reduction of components, simplified design, unified communication for numerous different types of system components, simplified resolution of conflicts between competing control strategies, expandability to additional vehicle systems, and flexibility to upgrade for new, improved vehicle control schemes.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method of forming a via hole (9), or a via (7), from a lower side (5) of a substrate (3) for electronic devices towards an upper side (4) of a substrate (3) at least partly through the substrate (3). The method comprises the steps of: etching a first lengthwise portion (11) of the via hole (9) and etching a second lengthwise portion (12) of the via hole (9); whereby the first lengthwise portion (11) and the second lengthwise portion (12) substantially form the via hole (9) and a constriction (23) is formed in the via hole (9). The constriction (23) defines an aperture (24) of the via hole (9) and the method further comprises the step of opening the via hole (9) by etching, with the constriction (23) functioning as an etch mask. A via is formed by at least partly filling the via hole with conductive material. A substrate for electronic devices comprising a via is also provided.
