Abstract:
A pressure-sensitive adhesive composition for an optical film of the present invention includes a (meth)acrylic polymer(A) that comprises, as monomer units, 67 to 96.99% by weight of alkyl (meth)acrylate(a1), 1 to 20% by weight of benzyl (meth)acrylate(a2), 2 to 10% by weight of a carboxyl group-containing monomer(a3) and 0.01 to 3% by weight of a hydroxyl group-containing monomer(a4), has a weight average molecular weight(Mw) of 1,600,000 or more, and satisfy a weight average molecular weight(Mw)/number average molecular weight(Mn) ratio of 1.8 to 10. The pressure-sensitive adhesive composition can satisfy durability that does not cause peeling, separation at the state in which the optical film was attached, and can form a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer capable of improving display non-uniformity caused by a white display leakage at a peripheral portion.

Provided is a laminate including: a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer attached polarizing film including a polarizing film and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer or layers provided on one or both sides of the polarizing film; and a transparent conductive member including a transparent conductive layer in which the transparent conductive member is bonded to the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer attached polarizing film in such a manner that the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer of the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer attached polarizing film is in contact with the transparent conductive layer of the transparent conductive member, wherein the polarizing film includes a polarizer and an inorganic layer or layers provided on one or both sides of the polarizer, and the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is provided on at least one side of the inorganic layer of the polarizing film. Even when placed on a transparent conductive layer, the laminate can prevent degradation of the transparent conductive layer.

There is provided a thin polarizing plate with a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer hardly warping. A polarizing plate with a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer of the present invention includes: first pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, a protective film, and a polarizing film in the stated order, wherein: the polarizing film has a thickness of 13 μm or less; a thickness ratio between the protective film and the polarizing film (thickness of the protective film/thickness of the polarizing film) is from 1.5 to 9.0; and a creep amount when a load of 500 g is applied to the first pressure-sensitive adhesive layer for 1 hour is from 20 μm/h to 300 μm/h.

A pressure-sensitive adhesive layer attached polarizing film of invention includes a polarizing film; and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer provided on the polarizing film, wherein the polarizing film comprises a polarizer and a transparent protective film provided on only one side of the polarizer, the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is provided on a side of the polarizer opposite to the side on which the transparent protective film is provided, and the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is made from a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition including a (meth)acryl-based polymer (A), an onium-anion salt (B1), and an alkali metal salt (B2). The pressure-sensitive adhesive layer attached polarizing film has a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer possessing an antistatic function and satisfactory durability even after a humidity test under severe conditions and is less prone to degradation of optical properties even after a humidity test under severe conditions.

An object of the present invention is to provide a pressure-sensitive-adhesive composition for forming a pressure-sensitive-adhesive layer capable of keeping a high endurance even when this layer is exposed to a heated environment or allowed to stand still for a long term. Another object of the invention is to provide a pressure-sensitive-adhesive layer formed from the pressure-sensitive-adhesive composition, a pressure-sensitive-adhesive-layer-attached polarizing film having the pressure-sensitive-adhesive layer, and an image display device including the pressure-sensitive-adhesive-layer-attached polarizing film. The composition is a pressure-sensitive-adhesive composition including a (meth)acryl-based polymer, and an oligomer epoxy-group-containing silane coupling agent having an epoxy equivalent of 250 to 600 g/mol.

A method for producing a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer-carrying optical film includes the step of applying, over the optical film, a coating liquid for anchor layer comprising a mixed solvent comprising 10 to 100% by weight of water and 90 to 0% by weight of an alcohol, and a polyoxyalkylene-group-containing polymer so as to give an applied-coat thickness before drying of 20 μm or less; and next drying the workpiece under drying conditions satisfying both of the following requirements (1) and (2): (1) the drying temperature T is from 40 to 70° C., and (2) a value obtained by multiplying the drying temperature T (° C.) by the drying period H (seconds), T×H, satisfies: 400≤(T×H)≤4000, thereby removing the mixed solvent to form the anchor layer.
