Abstract: Method and apparatus of video coding are disclosed. According to one method, the left reference boundary samples and the top reference boundary samples are checked jointly. According to another method, selected original left reference boundary samples and selected original top reference boundary samples at specific positions are used for predictor up-sampling. According to yet another method, the horizontal interpolation and the vertical interpolation are in a fixed order regardless of a shape of the current block, size of the current block or both.

Abstract: A method and apparatus of video coding are disclosed. A piece-wise linear mapping is derived to map a target luma sample from a first signal domain to a second signal domain, or vice versa. The piece-wise linear mapping process comprises determining first pivot points for performing video encoding or decoding of the luma samples using a piece-wise linear mapping. The first pivot points are determined so that: if a target mapped pivot point corresponding to one first pivot point in the second signal domain has a multiple of the target interval value, the target mapped pivot point and a next mapped pivot point can be located in a same second segment; and otherwise, the target mapped pivot point and the next mapped pivot point cannot be located in the same second segment.

According to one method, when the neighboring block is bi-prediction coded, the neighboring block is treated as a uni-prediction block by deriving an associated OBMC predictor based on uni-prediction motion information derived from the neighboring block. Abstract: A video coder implementing affine prediction is provided. The video coder receives input data associated with a current block to be coded. The video coder derives a control point motion vector (CPMV) of the current block according to an affine model. The video coder derives a set of motion compensation motion vectors (MCMVs) for a set of sub-blocks of the current block based on the derived CPMV of the current block according to the affine model. The video coder performs motion compensation for the current block based on the set of MCMVs. The CPMV of the current block is derived based on a CPMV of a first reference block that is a neighboring block located in a same region of the current block or an MCMV of a second reference block that is not a neighboring block located in the same region of the current block.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for coding system using affine motion model are disclosed. According to one method, a neighbouring block set of the current block comprising multiple spatial neighbouring blocks and one or more collocated blocks is determined for the current block. One or more constructed affine MVP candidates are derived for an affine MVP candidate list based on CP (control-point) MVs (motion vectors) at multiple spatial neighbouring blocks and said one or more collocated blocks. One constructed affine MVP candidate without one temporal MV is checked and inserted into the affine MVP candidate list before any constructed affine MV with one temporal MV. The current block or motion information of the current block is then encoded or decoded based on the affine MVP candidate list.

Abstract: An intra prediction method includes receiving input data of a current block in a current picture, deriving reference samples of the current block from boundary samples, selecting a matrix for the current block, generating intermediate predicted samples by multiplying the reference samples and the matrix, and clipping the intermediate predicted samples before up-sampling. The intra prediction method further includes performing an up-sampling process on the clipped intermediate predicted samples to generate predicted samples for the current block, and encoding or decoding the current block according to the predicted samples of the current block.
