    Abstract: The invention relates to a transmitting system, comprising an SNS client that receives SNS messages from at least one SNS server, and a transmitter which transmits a broadcast signal, including the SNS messages and mobile service data, for a mobile broadcast. The transmitter includes: an RS frame encoder, which performs RS encoding and CRC encoding on the mobile service data for the mobile broadcast so as to build RS frames, and divides each RS frame into a plurality of portions; a group-forming unit, which forms data groups that contain each of the plurality of portions, and which adds known data sequences and signaling data to each data group; an inter-leaver for interleaving data of the data groups; and a trellis encoding unit for trellis-encoding the interleaved data.

    Abstract: A method is provided for transmitting an emergency alert message by a broadcast transmitter. The broadcast transmitter first encodes service data and signaling data for a service, second encodes the first encoded service data and the first encoded signaling data, and Forward Error Correction (FEC) encodes transmission parameter data. The transmission parameter data includes encoding information of the service data. The broadcast transmitter modulates the second encoded service data, the second encoded signaling data, and the FEC encoded transmission parameter data, and transmits a broadcast signal including the modulated service data, the modulated signaling data, and the modulated transmission parameter data. The signaling data includes a first signaling table and a second signaling table.

    Abstract: A method of processing an emergency alert in a broadcast receiver includes receiving a broadcast signal including an emergency alert table, the emergency alert table including an emergency alert text related to an emergency alert message, information for identifying a viewing target for the emergency alert message and emergency-related broadcast service information for an emergency-related broadcast service, decoding the emergency alert table, displaying the emergency alert text in the decoded emergency alert table, and displaying an additional content related to the emergency alert message. The broadcast signal further includes wake-up information that includes 2 bits representing at least a first wake-up notification of a first emergency or a second wake-up notification of a second emergency different from the first wake-up notification of the first emergency.
