Abstract: A sensor apparatus for an autonomously operated commercial vehicle to allow panoramic capture of surroundings of the commercial vehicle, including: radar units mountable in front corner areas of the vehicle; downwardly directed cameras having a fisheye objective, mountable on front upper corner areas of the vehicle; at least one rearwardly directed sensor mounted on a section of the vehicle to allow rearward image capture; and an evaluation module to evaluate image data from the radar units, the downwardly directed cameras and the at least one rearwardly directed sensor to achieve the panoramic capture of the surroundings of the vehicle; in which the radar units and the at least one rearwardly directed sensor capture all points in a surrounding area of the vehicle, and wherein the downwardly directed cameras capture all points in the surrounding area of the vehicle. Abstract: An apparatus for controlling a traction of a vehicle, in which the vehicle includes a parking brake system with a spring-loaded brake cylinder operable to release the parking brake against a spring force using pressurized air and the parking brake system is configured to brake one or more driven wheels of the vehicle. The apparatus includes a data interface module and a braking control module. The data interface module is configured to receive input information depending on a wheel slip of the one or more wheels of the vehicle. The braking control module is configured to determine the wheel slip based on the received information and to control the parking brake system to keep the wheel slip below a threshold value, thereby controlling the traction of the vehicle.

The vehicle (100) is defined by a vertical centre-plane (110) that runs in a forward-aft direction along the centre of the vehicle and the vehicle is defined by a vertical left-plane (120) that runs in a forward-aft direction along the left hand side of the vehicle and the vehicle is defined by a vertical right-plane (130) that runs in a forward-aft direction along the right hand side of the vehicle. The at least one position of the forward looking sensor (20) is horizontally spaced from the centre plane (10) such that it is closer to the left-plane (120) than to the centre-plane (110) or is closer to the right plane (130) than to the centre-plane (110).

Abstract: A steering control system for a commercial vehicle having braking and steering systems. The braking system brakes dissymetrically side wheels of the vehicle. The steering system steers the vehicle based on a steering signal. The steering control system includes selection and control modules. The selection module switches between first and second steering modes. The first mode indicates steering of the vehicle by turning vehicle wheels. The second mode indicates steering of the vehicle by generating a braking signal for at least one wheel providing a yaw moment applied to the vehicle. The control module generates the first signal indicating a steering demand in the first mode and a second signal indicating a steering demand in the second mode. The control module provides the first signal to the steering system and the second signal to the braking system to brake the vehicle dissymetrically to steer the vehicle with the yaw moment.
