    摘要: Disclosed is a method for forming a photosensitive insulating film pattern and a reflection electrode each having an uneven upper surface, and a method for manufacturing an LCD having a reflection electrode using the same. A photosensitive insulating film is formed on a first substrate on which a first electrode having a reflection property is formed. The photosensitive insulating film is exposed to a light. The exposed photosensitive insulating film is developed to form an uneven surface with prominences and recesses. The reflection electrode is formed on the photosensitive insulating film. A second substrate having a transparent electrode is formed to face the first substrate. A liquid crystal layer is sandwiched between the first substrate and the second substrate. A first amount of light of the light scanned between first patterns corresponding to an upper portion of the first electrode is smaller than a second amount of light thereof scanned between second patterns corresponding to a portion other than the first electrode. The dents or grooves formed at the photosensitive insulating film and the entire surface of the reflection electrode formed on the photosensitive insulating film have the same depth, to thereby improve the reflection efficiency throughout the entire area of the display region.

    摘要: In a liquid crystal display with improved side visibility and a fabrication method of the liquid crystal display, a unit pixel may include first and second sub-pixels in which liquid crystals are continuously aligned and electrically isolated. A first pixel electrode for implementing the first sub-pixel is formed on a protective layer. A second pixel electrode for implementing the second sub-pixel is formed beneath the protective layer. The protective layer formed on the second pixel electrode lowers the electric field of the second sub-pixel, so that a liquid crystal application voltage applied to the second sub-pixel is lower than the voltage applied to the first sub-pixel. Accordingly, the transmittances of the first and second sub-pixels in the unit pixel are different from each other to improve side visibility.

    摘要: In an LCD apparatus, a reflecting plate, which is formed on a pixel electrode connected to a switching device formed on an array substrate, defines a first area from which a natural light is reflected and a second area through which an artificial light is transmitted. The reflecting plate is partially extended to and overlapped with the second area depending upon a rubbing direction of the array substrate. Thus, the reflective-transmissive type LCD apparatus may prevent occurrence of the afterimage, and may enhance a contrast ratio thereof when operated in a transmissive mode.

Therefore, the optical condition of the optical film assembly is optimized to improve an image display quality.

    摘要: Disclosed is a reflection type liquid crystal display (LCD) and a manufacturing method thereof. A first substrate on which a pixel array is formed is prepared. A second substrate is formed facing the first substrate. A liquid crystal layer is formed between the first and second substrates. A reflective electrode is formed on the first substrate. The reflective electrode includes a plurality of first regions and a plurality of second regions having a height difference relative to the first regions, in which a first total sum in length components of the second regions arranged along a direction perpendicular to a first direction is greater than a second total sum in length components of the second regions arranged along a direction perpendicular to a second direction such that the second regions have higher reflectivity in the first direction relative to the second direction. A reflective electrode of oriented micro lenses defined by the first grooves and the second grooves is provided to enhance a reflection efficiency. The contrast and image quality are improved remarkably. The micro lenses are suitable for electronic displays that need a high reflectivity towards a specific direction. Since the reflective electrodes may be formed by an improved exposure and development process, the manufacturing cost and time would be reduced.
