摘要: A method and apparatus for uniquely identifying signal sources in a multisource signal. True levels of signal components transmitted by each of the co-channel base stations in the area under test in a wireless network are measured and associated with the appropriate (originating) base station in presence of co-channel and adjacent-channel interference without interrupting service. The present invention is based on an “area-measurement” approach and relies on relative time-of-arrival (RTOA) measurements of the signal components impervious to the existence of the phase drift between the scanner and base stations.

摘要: An improved noise canceling microphone is provided including robust design features and advanced noise control and speech discrimination convergence characteristics. Two adaptive controllers are used to ensure robust performance in quickly changing acoustic environments ensuring an acceptable minimum performance characteristic. Additionally, a new real-time spectral estimation procedure is applied to a noise canceling communications microphone platform that permits continued and optimal adaptation of non-voice bandwidth frequencies during speech transients.

摘要: A system and method for orbital planning allows iterative calculations of orbital parameters to be accomplished in an automated way with one parameter solution serving as input to the next parameter's calculation. A software program employs a graphical user interface (GUI) to allow a space mission analyst to set up a series of sub-problems of any desired level of complexity. The program then implements the series automatically and sequentially, incorporating the solution to one sub-problem into the input to the next.

摘要: A system and method for monitoring and safety related systems (SRSs) in a Secure Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) that addresses concerns for security of electronic emanations from equipment in the SCIF. A fiber optic link connects an optical receiver located within a SCIF and an optical transmitter located outside the SCIF. Alarm signals generated by an SRS located outside the SCIF are detected and sent to the optical receiver over the fiber optic link. The optical receiver converts the optical signals to electrical signals and directs the signals to alarm devices within the SCIF. Additionally, an audio signal generated at the location outside the SCIF is converted to an optical signal and then reconverted to an audio signal by the optical receiver for broadcast over a speaker located within the SCIF. A tone signal generated at the optical transmitter is continuously sent over the optical fiber link to the optical receiver and the SCIF speaker. The tone signal is monitored and any loss of the tone signal at the speaker causes an alarm signal to be returned to the optical transmitter located outside the SCIF. The optical receiver located within the SCIFF monitors an alarm device within the SCIFF for the presence of an alarm condition within the SCIFF. If an alarm condition within the SCIFF is detected, an alarm signal is sent over the fiber optic link to the optical transmitter located outside the SCIFF and directed to the SRS located outside the SCIFF.

摘要: A selective blocker for targeted mobile terminals. A signal monitor determines when a targeted mobile terminal is transmitting a signal to a base station. A signal analyzer identifies characteristics of the terminal signal and a processor produces a blocking response based on one or more characteristics. The blocking response is transmitted to the targeted mobile terminal to block communications between the targeted mobile terminal and the base station using the minimum power needed to effectively block the terminal signal so as to limit interference with non-targeted mobile terminals.

摘要: The present invention is drawn to the detection of harmful agents, known or previously unknown, using a biosensor. The biosensor makes use of non-living biological or biochemical sensor molecules for detecting and classifying chemicals, poisons, particles, vira, and bacteria in fluids. In a preferred embodiment, the bioreceptor comprises sensor molecules packaged in a collection device and treated to evoke an optical response to the presence of harmful agents, allowing for photocell detection and signal processing. The sensor molecules are selected from the group of biological molecules consisting of aptamers, single-chain nucleic acids, double-chain nucleic acids, hybridized chemicals incorporating these molecules and combinations thereof that bind with harmful agents. The harmful agents can also be collected in this manner for further analysis, and antibodies produced by the apparatus.

摘要: A ribbon drive pumping apparatus and method for substantially incompressible fluids, such as liquids, is disclosed. The pump has an extended tube having an intake at a first end and an outlet at a second end. A ribbon formed of helical coils is mounted in the tube for rotation and the frequency of the coils decreases from the first end to the second end of the tube. Substantially incompressible fluid is collected at the first end, an axial component of velocity is increased via the rotating ribbon, and the substantially incompressible fluid is ejected from the second end to provide pumping of the liquid. Additional fluid is added to an interior portion of the pump, preferably to a low pressure region, for various purposes such as mixing, cavitation prevention, increased throughput, etc.

摘要: A system and method for enhancing the security of containers and the goods within them and for tracking a shipping container from its origin to its destination. A shipping container uses a breach containment system comprising a transmitter, a receiver, a processor, a status record and a plurality of conductors to detect any breach of the shipping container structure. The conductors are embedded in, or applied to, the structures that form the shipping container and are connected a processor. The processor maintains a local timer. Upon the sealing of the shipping container, the conductors form circuits and the local timer contributes a time value to the status record. An open circuit condition experienced by circuits formed by the conductors causes the local timer to be reset and status record to be revised to reflect the revised time value. A monitoring station maintains a master timer that is synchronized with the local timer when the shipping container is sealed. If the integrity of the shipping container is breached, the local timer value and the master timer value will be different indicating that a breach has occurred. The present invention also provides for reporting of the content of the status record to reporting stations for forwarding to a monitoring station.
