    Abstract: A method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus communicates with a second apparatus, including transmitting or receiving a first transmission. The apparatus receives information about the second UE from a sensor at the first UE and/or from a BSM. The apparatus determines whether the first apparatus and the second apparatus are in a LOS condition based on a correlation of the information with one or more of a channel estimation, PMI feedback, or RI feedback. The apparatus may adapt a transmission parameter for a second transmission based on a predicted location of the first apparatus or the second apparatus. The transmission parameter may include at least one of a modulation, a code rate, a DMRS density, a precoder, a CSI-RS transmission periodicity or a feedback rate.

    Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide synchronization techniques for user equipment (UEs) that may be otherwise unable to support sidelink communication a synchronized UE and may have also lost global navigation satellite system (GNSS) and/or Evolved Node Base Stations (eNBs) as a synchronization source. In such instance, the unsynchronized UE may utilize reference signals (RS) from the data packets received from other UEs to track the timing and perform autonomous timing adjustments based thereon for synchronized packet transmission or reception.

    Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine whether a peer-to-peer (P2P) communication is to be relayed based at least in part on a location of the UE and a range requirement associated with the P2P communication; and transmit the P2P communication, wherein the P2P communication includes an indication of whether the P2P communication is to be relayed. In some aspects, a UE may receive the P2P communication; determine whether to relay the P2P communication based at least in part on the indication and at least one of: a location of the UE, or a UE identifier, included in the P2P communication, that identifies the UE and is associated with a request for the UE to relay the P2P communication; and selectively relay the P2P communication based at least in part on determining whether to relay the P2P communication.

In some aspects, a transmitter device may segment a plurality of bits of a communication into a first set of bits and a second set of bits; process the first set of bits using a first processing chain and the second set of bits using a second processing chain, wherein the first set of bits is mapped to most significant bits (MSBs) of one or more symbols of a composite constellation and the second set of bits is mapped to least significant bits (LSBs) of the one or more symbols of the composite constellation, and wherein the composite constellation is formed from a plurality of lower order constellations; modulate the first set of bits and the second set of bits to generate a set of modulated symbols; and transmit the set of modulated symbols.
