Abstract:
Confusion resulting from assigning the same node identifier to multiple nodes is resolved through the use of confusion detection techniques and the use of unique identifiers for the nodes. In some aspects an access point and/or an access terminal may perform operations relating to detecting confusion and/or providing a unique identifier to resolve confusion.
Abstract:
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, an access node may synchronize a clock of the access node which is associated with communication on a local area network to a frame structure of a time-synchronized wireless network. The access node may receive configuration information relating to a quality of service profile and a first set of time intervals for the clock of the access node. The access node may map the first set of time intervals for the clock of the access node to a second set of time intervals of the frame structure of the time-synchronized wireless network. The access node may communicate on the time-synchronized wireless network during one or more of the second set of time intervals. Numerous other aspects are provided.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may attempt to access a network at a local area network access point without prior context information. The access point may be a hotspot operating in unlicensed spectrum according to a Long Term Evolution (LTE)-based standard. The UE may be unable to determine if it is authorized to access the network, so the UE may attempt to obtain system information that provides a list of service providers supported by the network. The UE may then determine whether it has credentials for a supported service provider, and the UE may access the network using those credentials when a supported service provider is recognized. Other broadcast messages may provide information about system information for supported service providers. A UE that is unable to access the network using stored credentials may attempt access using a random access channel procedure.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for enhanced neighbor discovery through enhanced automatic neighbor relations (ANR) and for detecting cell identifier confusion and are described. Neighboring base stations may provide information to one another, including using ANR, that may avoid or help to resolve cell identity confusion. For example, a NHN-ID may be defined to avoid or resolve cell identify confusion. A wireless device, such as a base station or a user equipment (UE), may determine whether neighboring cells are using a common cell identifier and may adjust operations accordingly. For example, a device may detect physical cell identity (PCI) confusion by determining whether two neighboring cells have the same PCI and different Evolved Universal Terrestrial Access Network (E-UTRAN) Cell Global Identifiers (ECGIs) or different Neutral Host Network Identifier (NHN-IDs). A network entity may then inform the neighboring cells having the same PCI of the confusion.
Abstract:
Multiple data bearers may be configured for a user equipment (UE) for carrier aggregation and may be split among multiple evolved nodeBs (eNBs). The eNBs may be selected to serve the multiple data bearers for the UE based on various criteria such as channel conditions, loading, and the like. Various eNBs may be selected to serve data bearers for UE on a per data bearer basis, so that a particular eNB may be selected to serve each data bearer of the UE. Each data packet for the UE may then be sent via an appropriate data bearer.
Abstract:
A method for managing spectrum resources by a network node in a wireless communication system may include determining an availability of a first channel of a spectrum, and assigning a second channel to a secondary carrier in response to determining that the first channel is available. In the alternative, or in addition, the method may include unassigning the second channel to the secondary carrier in response to determining that the first channel is unavailable. The spectrum may be, or include, Authorized Shared Access (ASA) spectrum. The method may be performed by one or more nodes of a network that is a secondary user of the spectrum. The channel may be deemed unavailable when in use by a primary user of the ASA spectrum. A wireless communication apparatus include a processor coupled to a memory holding instructions for execution by the processor to cause the apparatus to perform operations as described above.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A plurality of Ethernet devices may transmit Ethernet frames through a cellular network. The Ethernet devices may be coupled to the cellular network via a cellular node. The cellular node may receiver Ethernet frames from the Ethernet devices, identify a traffic class to the Ethernet frames, and map the Ethernet frames to bearers based at least in part on the traffic classes. The cellular node may transmit the Ethernet frames to other cellular nodes using the bearers. At a core network, a mapping between the cellular node and the MAC addresses of the associated Ethernet devices may be stored to allow Ethernet frames to be routed through the cellular network.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. An access point (AP) may include a service discovery indicator in a broadcast message. A user equipment (UE) may tune to the radio frequency spectrum band of the AP and receive the broadcast message. The UE may identify a web resource based on the service discovery indicator and access the web resource to determine the capability configuration of the AP. The UE may access the web resource using an existing internet connection of its currently serving AP.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for communication comprise aspects that include performing a power management procedure for configuring a subset of network entities to receive one or more of downlink signal measurements and/or one or more uplink signal measurements. The methods and apparatus further comprise aspects that include storing the one or more one or more of downlink signal measurements and/or one or more uplink signal measurements associated with the subset of network entities at a database for managing transmit power at the subset of network entities. Moreover, the methods and apparatus comprise aspects that include adjusting a transmit power value of at least one of the subset of network entities from a first transmit power value to a second transmit power value based at least in part on the one or more of downlink signal measurements and/or one or more uplink signal measurements.
Abstract:
Described herein are techniques for mode selection and power management for multimode small cells. For example, the technique may involve taking measurements, at the access point, of a macro cell in a vicinity of the access point. The technique may involve managing power or resources of a first RAT and a second RAT based on the measurements, wherein the power of at least one of the first RAT or second RAT is associated with coverage area of the macro cell.
