Abstract: This disclosure provides wireless communication methods, components, devices and systems for applying spectral masks and spectral flatness parameters in conjunction with transmission of millimeter wave (mmWave) signals in wireless communication networks. In some examples, in conjunction with transmission of an mmWave signal, a wireless communication device can apply a derivative spectral mask featuring transitional offset ranges that correspond to transitional frequency offset ranges of a spectral mask for a nominal carrier signal, scaled according to a ratio between a bandwidth of the mmWave signal and a bandwidth of the nominal carrier signal. In some examples, the derivative spectral mask can feature an in-band frequency offset range that is wider than a scaled width of an in-band frequency offset range of the spectral mask for the nominal carrier signal.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, an initiating device may transmit a signal that includes multiple packets. The initiating device may receive, from a responding device, a channel impulse response (CIR) report for each packet of the multiple packets. The initiating device may align, using one or more taps in the CIR report for each packet, the CIR reports across the multiple packets to identify a target object, a location of the target object, or a movement of the target object. The initiating device may perform an action based at least in part on the target object, the location of the target object, or the movement of the target object. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, components, devices and systems for radio frequency sensing control for an ultra-wideband system. Some aspects more specifically relate to setting up one or more sensing instances (sensing rounds) for one or more respective sensing operations. In some implementations, a first wireless device (for example a controller, an initiator) may transmit a sensing session setup request frame that indicates a set of parameters for the one or more sensing instances. For each of the sensing instances, the first wireless device may transmit a sensing control information element that includes at least a common sensing control configuration and a channel impulse response report configuration. The first wireless device may participate in the sensing operations with at least a second wireless device (for example one or more responders or controlees) during the respective sensing instances.

Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems that support communicating using orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) according to a tone plan that supports 20 MHz subchannel puncturing within a wireless channel. In some aspects, a non-legacy tone plan may define a set of tones for a resource unit (RU) such that the RU does not overlap a 20 MHz subchannel boundary of the wireless channel. The locations of the set of tones in the non-legacy tone plan may be shifted relative to corresponding tones associated with a corresponding RU according to a legacy tone plan. One or more of the disclosed tone plans may enable puncturing of subchannels while making use of some RUs that would otherwise partially overlap a punctured subchannel in the legacy tone plan.

Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for data parsing for resource unit (RU) aggregation. A wireless communication device (such as an access point (AP) or a station (STA)) may allocate a set of RUs for a receiving device in a basic service set (BSS). The set of RUs may be associated with multiple bandwidth segments of a bandwidth allocation and may be non-contiguous or contiguous. The wireless communication device may determine a data parsing and encoding scheme for a set of information bits. The data parsing may be implemented at a medium access control (MAC) layer or physical (PHY) layer and the encoding may correspond to a joint encoding or a separate encoding for each RU of the allocation. The wireless communication device may then distribute the coded bits to the set of RUs for transmission.

Abstract: In some implementations, a transmitting UWB device may determine a number of information bits of a payload to communicate via UWB. The transmitting UWB device may select, based on the number of information bits, a codeword length from a selection of available codeword lengths with which to encode the payload using a low-density parity-check (LDPC) encoding scheme, wherein the selection of available codeword lengths include a first codeword length, a second codeword length, and a third codeword length, wherein the third codeword length is longer than the second codeword length, which is longer than the first codeword length. The transmitting UWB device may transmit the payload using one or more codewords having the selected codeword length.

In some implementations, an access point (AP) may transmit a PPDU that includes first user data and second user data, where at least the first user data is transmitted in a DUP mode. As such, the first user data may be mapped to a number (N) of tones spanning a first RU in accordance with a dual carrier modulation (DCM) scheme, and a duplicate copy of the first user data may be mapped to N tones spanning a second RU in accordance with the DCM scheme. In some implementations, the second user data also may be transmitted in a DUP mode.
