Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a responding station may transmit a first ranging poll via a first bandwidth, the first ranging poll comprising an indication of a second ranging poll and first polling information transmitted with repetitions in a frequency domain based at least in part on serving first initiating stations (I-STAs) configured for communication using the first bandwidth and second I-STAs configured for communication using a second bandwidth that is smaller than the first bandwidth. The responding station may transmit, based at least in part on the indication of the second ranging poll, the second ranging poll over the second bandwidth comprising second polling information. Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for generating a secure long training field (LTF). In some implementations, the secure LTF may include a randomized bit sequence that is difficult, if not impossible, to replicate by any device other than the transmitting device and the intended receiving device. For example, the transmitting device may use a block cipher or stream cipher to generate a pseudorandom bit sequence and may select a subset of bits of the pseudorandom bit sequence to be mapped to a sequence of modulation symbols representing an LTF symbol of the secure LTF. More specifically, each of the modulation symbols is mapped to a respective one of a number of subcarriers spanning a bandwidth of the secure LTF. The transmitting device may further transmit a physical layer convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) that includes the secure LTF to the receiving device.

Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for identifying wake-up signals. Some implementations more specifically relate to PHY preamble designs for wake-up signals such as Wake-Up Radio (WUR) packets conforming to IEEE 802.11ba. In some implementations, the preamble designs can include a combination of modulation schemes, data rate indications and length indications enabling devices capable of receiving and decoding wake-up signals to identify the signals as wake-up signals (for example, WUR packets), while ensuring that devices not capable of receiving and decoding wake-up signals identify the wake-up signals as legacy packets, or otherwise not WUR packets.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to techniques and apparatus for efficient support of connected discontinuous reception (C-DRX) by using a wireless device (e.g., a user equipment (UE)) with a second receiver. A wireless device with two receivers may place one receiver in a low power mode and take the receiver out of the low power mode in response to a signal received from a serving base station (BS) of the wireless device. A BS may direct a wireless device to enter a low power DRX (LP-DRX) mode or enhanced DRX mode having longer low power cycles than a non-enhanced DRX mode, and the wireless device may place a primary receiver in a low power mode in response to the directive from the BS. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and disclosed.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A station (STA) may receive a null data packet (NDP) on a plurality of subcarriers, and the STA may generate a channel state information (CSI) matrix for each subcarrier of the plurality of subcarriers. After generating a CSI matrix for a subcarrier, such as at least one subcarrier, the STA may scale each value in the CSI matrix using a power-of-two value to minimize complexity. Specifically, instead of scaling each value in the CSI matrix to a value between zero and one using divisions (for example, which may be computationally expensive), the STA may use shifting to scale each value in the CSI matrix. The STA may then quantize the scaled values in the CSI matrix for reporting, and the STA may transmit the quantized, scaled values in the CSI matrix in a CSI report.

Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for soliciting trigger-based (TB) physical layer protocol convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data units (PPDUs). Some implementations more specifically relate to trigger frame and PPDU designs that support RU downsizing. For example, an access point (AP) may transmit a trigger frame soliciting a TB PPDU from a wireless station (STA). In some aspects, the trigger frame may carry RU allocation information indicating the allocated RU or MRU (associated with a wireless medium) and downsizing information indicating whether downsizing of the RU or MRU is permitted. If interference is detected in a portion of the wireless medium, and downsizing is permitted, the STA may transmit the TB PPDU on a downsized RU or MRU. The downsized RU or MRU includes a subset of the tones in the RU or MRU allocated by the trigger frame.

Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for wireless communication, and particularly, for generating or receiving a multi-generation physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU). The multi-generation PPDU may concurrently include a first generation-specific preamble based on a first generation of a wireless communication specification (such as that defined by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.11 family of standards) and a second generation-specific preamble based on a second generation of the wireless communication specification in a same transmission. The generation-specific preambles may be generated based on bandwidth portions of a wireless channel that each generation-specific preamble will occupy in the multi-generation PPDU. One or more of the generation-specific preambles may be modified based on an aggregate bandwidth of the multi-generation PPDU. This disclosure includes several options for modifying one or more generation-specific preambles or data fields to accommodate their use in a multi-generation PPDU.
