Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for clear channel assessment are disclosed. In some aspects, a method for wireless communication includes determining, at a first device, an indication of a quality level of a communication path between the first device and a second device, determining a clear channel assessment parameter based on the indication, performing, at the first device, a clear channel assessment based on the clear channel assessment parameter, and transmitting a message to the second device in response to the clear channel assessment.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses for wireless communications are disclosed. In one aspect, an apparatus for wireless communications includes a receiver configured to wirelessly receive a message comprising a time for the apparatus to wake up and instructions to execute an action in response to receiving a paging frame from a wireless communication device. The receiver is further configured to receive the paging frame from the wireless communication device. The apparatus further includes a processor configured to execute the action in response to receiving the paging frame. In one implementation, receiving the paging frame comprises comparing an address of the paging frame with an address of the apparatus. The action may include one or more of sending a power save poll frame, waiting for packet reception, receiving the beacon, and receiving the delivery traffic indication message beacon.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for low overhead paging in a wireless communications network are described herein. In some aspects, an apparatus for wireless communication includes a receiver and a processor. The receiver receives a request from a first device. The request indicates a first period of a plurality of periods corresponding to a periodicity for transmitting paging messages. The processor assigns the first device to a group scheduled to receive paging messages at most every first period based on the request and determines a start time for transmitting paging messages to the first device based on schedules for transmitting paging messages to a plurality of other devices. In other aspects, an apparatus for wireless communication includes a processor and memory. The processor derives an information sub-unit from an information unit associated with a paging message, compresses the information sub-unit, and generates a second information unit associated with the method of compression.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication. A transmitting device may transmit soliciting frames to a receiving device on a forward link. In response to the soliciting frames, the receiving device may transmit solicited frames in an immediate response back to the transmitting device on a reverse link. A solicited frame may fail to successfully decode at the transmitting device. The transmitting device in response may indicate an instantaneous value for one or more reverse link transmission parameters when sending a subsequent soliciting frame. The reverse link transmission parameters may be predetermined in a fixed mapping such that one or more values for the reverse link transmission parameters depend on values for the forward link transmission parameters. The receiving device may override the predetermined value and instead use the instantaneous value. An indicator of the instantaneous value may also be sent in a control field.
Abstract:
Methods and devices for enhanced power save protocol are provided. In one aspect, a message to two or more stations is transmitted, the message requesting the two or more stations to transmit power save polls concurrently at a specified time. The power save polls are then received concurrently from each of the stations.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices for communicating data in a wireless communications network are described herein. In some aspects, a wireless device includes a first receiver and a second receiver. The second receiver may be configured to consume less power than the first receiver. The second receiver receives a second signal wherein the second signal comprises a wake-up signal configured in NDP format including a signal field. The wireless device includes a circuit configured to take at least one action based on the second signal.
Abstract:
One aspect disclosed is a method in a wireless communications system including a first primary channel having a first frequency spectrum bandwidth and a second primary channel having a second frequency spectrum bandwidth, wherein the second frequency spectrum bandwidth includes the first frequency spectrum bandwidth. The method includes performing a first and a second back-off procedure at least partially in parallel, the first back-off procedure based on whether the first primary channel is idle, and the second back-off procedure based on whether the second primary channel is idle, and transmitting a wireless message based on whether the first or the second back-off procedure completes first.
Abstract:
Systems and methods of limiting wireless discovery range. A transmitting device may limit wireless discovery range by adjusting one or more transmission attributes of a discovery message, measuring inter-device distance based on range determination messages, or any combination thereof. A receiving device may limit wireless discovery range based on one or more attributes of a received discovery message, measuring inter-device distance based on range determination messages, or any combination thereof. Discovery messages may include a range adaptation bit indicating whether range adaptation is to be performed.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication at a receiving device. A receiving device may receive a first physical layer header of a first wireless local area network (WLAN) protocol data unit over a shared radio frequency spectrum band. The first physical layer header may include at least a first basic service set (BSS) identifier and a first device association identifier (AID). The receiving device may perform, based at least in part on the first BSS identifier and the first device AID, an intra-frame operation including a power saving operation and/or a receive filtering operation.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication. In one aspect, a method of wireless communication includes generating a null data packet (NDP) frame comprising a physical layer preamble having a legacy preamble portion, a non-legacy portion, and an extension portion, wherein the extension portion is from the group consisting of: high efficiency (HE) signal information, and a padding waveform. The method further includes transmitting the NDP frame.
