Abstract: Techniques are directed to a device for decoding a current block of video data in a current coding picture. The device may include a memory configured to store video data. The device may also include a processor configured to generate a first prediction block for the current block of the video data in the current picture according to an intra-prediction mode and generate a second prediction block for the current block of the video data in the current picture the picture according to an inter-prediction mode. The processor may be configured to generate motion information propagated from the second prediction block of the picture to the first prediction block, and use the motion information to obtain a final prediction block, then generate a reconstructed block based on a combination of the final prediction block and a residual block.

Abstract: Techniques are described for constructing motion vector predictor lists based on spatially neighboring blocks and collocated blocks. A method of coding video data includes, for a first block, in a first picture having a left-to-right coding order, constructing a first motion vector predictor list, wherein a first entry in the first motion vector predictor list is based on motion vector information of a left neighboring block to the first block, coding the first block in the first picture based on the first motion vector predictor list, for a second block, in a second picture having a right-to-left coding order, constructing a second motion vector predictor list, wherein a first entry in the second motion vector predictor list is based on motion vector information of a right neighboring block to the second block, and coding the second block in the second picture based on the second motion vector predictor list.

Abstract: This disclosure describes determining triangular prediction blocks for a current block partitioned in a triangle mode. A video coder may determine indices in a motion vector predictor list to identify motion vector predictors used to determine the triangular prediction block. If a first index value in the motion vector predictor list for a first triangular prediction block is less than a second index value in the motion vector predictor list for a second triangular prediction block, the signaled or received value for the second triangular prediction block may be the second index value reduced by an offset.

Abstract: Techniques are described for temporal prediction for adaptive loop filter (ALF) in video coding. A video coder may determine that temporal prediction for ALF is enabled for one or more intra coded slices of a picture, determine ALF coefficients for one or more blocks of the one or more intra coded slices, for which the temporal prediction for ALF is enabled, based on ALF coefficients of a previously coded picture or slice, and apply the determined ALF coefficients to the one or more blocks to generate one or more filtered blocks.

Abstract: A device for processing high dynamic range and/or wide color gamut (HDR/WCG) video data can be configured to determine a quantization parameter for quantized transform coefficients of a block of the HDR/WCG video data; inverse quantize the quantized transform coefficients based on the determined quantization parameter to determine dequantized transform coefficients; based on the dequantized transform coefficients, determine a block of residual values for the block of the HDR/WCG video data; based on the block of residual values, determine a reconstructed block for the block of the HDR/WCG video data; determine one or more dynamic range adjustment (DRA) parameters for the block of the HDR/WCG video data; adjust the one or more DRA parameters based on the determined quantization parameter to determine one or more adjusted DRA parameters; and perform DRA on the reconstructed block of the HDR/WCG video data using the one or more adjusted DRA parameters.

Abstract: In general, techniques are described for processing high dynamic range (HDR) and wide color gamut (WCG) video data for video coding. A device comprising a memory and a processor may perform the techniques. The memory may store compacted fractional chromaticity coordinate (FCC) formatted video data. The processor may inverse compact the compacted FCC formatted video data using one or more inverse adaptive transfer functions (TFs) to obtain decompacted FCC formatted video data. The processor may next inverse adjust a chromaticity component of the decompacted FCC formatted video data based on a corresponding luminance component of the decompacted FCC formatted video data to obtain inverse adjusted FCC formatted video data. The processor may convert the chromaticity component of the inverse adjusted FCC formatted video data from the FCC format to a color representation format to obtain High Dynamic Range (HDR) and Wide Color Gamut (WCG) video data.

Abstract: Sign prediction technology for video coding are generally described. An example device includes a memory configured to store video data, and processing circuitry in communication with the memory. The processing circuitry is configured to determine that a block of the video data stored to the memory is eligible to be coded using sign prediction, to perform the sign prediction with respect to one or more transform coefficients of the block only if the block meets a predetermined criterion, wherein the predetermined criterion is based on at least one of: a width of the block, a height of the block, a coding mode used to code the block, or a position of one or more sign-predicted transform coefficients within the block, and to code the block based on the sign prediction performed with respect to the block.

Abstract: A device includes processing circuitry configured to identify a set of pre-stored residual samples in video data that is stored to a memory, to combine the set of stored residual samples to form a combination, to apply a first sign combination to transform coefficients of the combination to obtain a first hypothesis reconstruction for a current block of the video data, and to apply a second sign combination to the transform coefficients of the combination to obtain a second hypothesis reconstruction for the current block. The processing circuitry is further configured to derive respective cost functions with respect to the first and second hypothesis reconstructions, to compare the respective derived cost functions, to select, based on the comparison, either the first or second hypothesis reconstruction, and to code the current block using a sign prediction associated with the selected one of the first or second hypothesis reconstruction.
