A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus determines a position of the apparatus. The apparatus broadcasts information in a first subset of a set of resources. The information includes the position of the apparatus, a sequence ID, and a resource ID associated with a second subset of the set of resources. The apparatus broadcasts a sequence in at least one symbol of the second subset of the set of resources. The at least one symbol is identified by the resource ID and the sequence is identified by the sequence ID.

Aspects described herein generally relate to managing resource pools in wireless communications to optimize the use of those resources for reducing latency in transmissions. The described aspects include receiving, at a user equipment (UE), an alternative resource pool information signal from a network entity; selecting, at the UE, a first control resource from a first frequency portion of the control resource pool based on the alternative resource pool information signal; transmitting, at the UE, the first control resource from the first frequency portion of the control resource pool; selecting, at the UE, a second control resource from a second frequency portion of the control resource pool based on the first control resource; and transmitting, at the UE, the second control resource from the second frequency portion of the control resource pool.

In one aspect of this disclosure, control information and data are carried in the same subframe in order to reduce control overhead. A method, an apparatus, and a computer-readable medium for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus may be a first UE. The first UE determines a data block to be transmitted to a second UE. The first UE determines a first resource in a subframe for carrying the data block and determines a second resource in the subframe for carrying control information associated with transmitting the data block. The first UE transmits the data block and the control information to the second UE in a device-to-device communication channel on the determined first and second resources, respectively.

The present disclosure enables a multicast and/or unicast transmitting UE to configure a multicast device-to-device communication and/or the unicast device-to-device communication such that UE may distinguish between the unicast and multicast device-to-device communications. The apparatus receives a unicast device-to-device communication including a destination identifier. The apparatus also receives a multicast device-to-device communication including the destination identifier. The apparatus differentiates the unicast device-to-device communication from the multicast device-to-device communication based on information provided in a header of the unicast device-to-device communication.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided that enable UEs to conserve power while involved in ProSe communication. The apparatus transmits discovery class information for ProSe communication to an A-UE and to an M-UE. The discovery class information may be transmitted from a PF in response to discovery requests. Discovery class rules may be sent from the PF as a part of service authorization. The discovery class information may be transmitted from a ProSe application server as application layer signaling. The A-UE and M-UE may use the discovery class information to select a pool of ProSe resources according to the discovery class information for transmission or monitoring of ProSe communication. The M-UE may use the information to reduce the number of resource pools of resources that are monitored for ProSe communication.

A method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may be a user equipment (UE). The apparatus may transmit, to a base station, information indicating a capability to communicate with one or more relay UEs. In addition, the apparatus may receive, from the base station, configuration information associated with a discovery procedure for identifying the one or more relay UEs. Further, the apparatus may perform the discovery procedure based on the configuration information.

A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus may be a UE. The UE determines a second set of resource block pairs on which to transmit a peer discovery message in a second time cycle based on a mapping of a first set of resource block pairs in a first time cycle to the second set of resource block pairs in the second time cycle. The mapping is a one-to-one mapping between each resource block pair in the first set of resource block pairs to a corresponding resource block pair in the second set of resource block pairs. Resource block pairs in the first set of resource block pairs may be in adjacent allocated resources. The UE transmits the peer discovery message in the determined second set of resource block pairs.

A 5G device may decode a control channel transmission of a safety message in a vehicle-to-everything system during a first portion of a time period. The 5G device may identify, based at least in part on the decoding, a pool of resource blocks (RBs) that are available for the time period. The 5G device may select a subset of RBs from the available pool of RBs for a transmission during a second portion of the time period.

Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for facilitating interruption handling in satellite-based communications are disclosed herein. An example method for wireless communication at a UE includes determining an interruption for a satellite-based communication link based in part on UE location information and blockage information of an obstruction that blocks LOS propagation for the satellite-based communication link. The example method also includes refraining performance of one or more communication link correction procedures for a time period associated with the interruption.
