    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a transmitter device may segment a plurality of bits of a communication into a first set of bits and a second set of bits; process the first set of bits using a first processing chain and the second set of bits using a second processing chain, wherein the first set of bits is mapped to most significant bits (MSBs) of one or more symbols of a composite constellation and the second set of bits is mapped to least significant bits (LSBs) of the one or more symbols of the composite constellation, and wherein the composite constellation is formed from a plurality of lower order constellations; modulate the first set of bits and the second set of bits to generate a set of modulated symbols; and transmit the set of modulated symbols. Numerous other aspects are provided.

    Abstract: A transmitting device may select frequency domain resources for an alert transmission based on a severity level of the alert transmission. The transmitting device may determine a severity level of an alert transmission to be transmitted on one or more available channels. The transmitting device may determine a presence of one or more systems configured to transmit on one or more neighbor channels of the one or more available channels. The transmitting device may select, for the alert transmission, frequency domain resources within the one or more available channels based on the presence of the one or more systems and the severity level. The frequency domain resources for a highest severity level transmission are spaced further apart from the one or more neighbor channels in the frequency domain than resources for a lower severity level transmission. The transmitting device may transmit the alert transmission on the frequency domain resources.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may monitor multiple beam pair links (BPLs) including a first BPL currently used by the UE to communicate with a network node (e.g., a base station), and a second BPL. The first BPL comprises a first network beam and a first UE beam, and the second BPL comprises a second network beam and a second UE beam. The UE may decide to switch beams from using the first BPL to using the second BPL based on signaling from the network node or autonomously. When the beam switch is made, the UE switches uplink (UL) transmission from over the first UE beam to over the second UE beam. After the beam switch is made, the UE transmits in the UL over the second UE beam using UL timing adjusted based on the first and second propagation delays.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The following relates more specifically to hierarchical hybrid automatic repeat request (HARM) for multi-level coding with multi-level sequential demodulation and decoding and code block grouping per decoding level. A user equipment (UE) may receive, during a first time period, a transmission from a base station including a first and second code block group (CBG) with codeblocks associated with a first and second decoding level. The UE may fail to decode the first CBG, may not decode the second CBG, may store post processing samples for the second CBG, and may transmit a feedback message to the base station. The base station may retransmit the first CBG and new data on the second CBG in a second time period. The UE may decode the first CBG and use the post processing samples to decode the second CBG from the first time period.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may transmit, to a user equipment (UE), a first demodulation reference signal for each of one or more sub-bands and configured in accordance with a first one or more demodulation reference signal configurations. The UE may select a second demodulation reference signal configuration from a respective set of second demodulation reference signal configurations for each of the one or more sub-bands and may transmit an indication of the second demodulation reference signal configuration for each of the one or more sub-bands. The base station may receive the indication and may transmit, to the UE, a second demodulation reference signal for each of the one or more sub-bands and configured in accordance with the second demodulation reference signal configuration for each of the one or more sub-bands.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may measure a received power of one or more reference signals, such as channel state information (CSI) reference signals (CSI-RSs) or synchronization signal blocks (SSBs), transmitted by a base station for a beam management procedure. The UE may determine a set of channel statistics associated with a channel used by the base station to transmit the one or more reference signals based on performing the beam management procedure. The UE may transmit a report to the base station, the report including at least an indication of the received of the one or more reference signals and the set of channel statistics. The base station may select a beam or a channel for communication with the UE based on at least the indication of the received power and the set of channel statistics.
