    Abstract: A method for constraining multi-pass decoder-side motion vector refinement (MP-DMVR) is provided. A video coder receives data for a block of pixels to be encoded or decoded as a current block of a current picture of a video. A video coder receives a motion vector that references a block of pixels in a reference picture based on the received data. A video coder refines the motion vector in a plurality of refinement passes by examining pixels in the reference picture that are identified based on the refined motion vector. The refinement of the motion vector is constrained by a refinement range. The video coder encodes or decodes the current block by using the refined motion vector to produce prediction residuals or to reconstruct the current block.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for video coding are disclosed. According to the method, a set of MC (Motion Compensation) candidates with each MC candidate comprising predicted samples for coding boundary pixels of the current block are determined. The set of MC candidates comprises a first candidate, and wherein the first candidate corresponds to a weighted sum of first predicted pixels generated according to first motion information of the current block and second predicted pixels generated according to second motion information of a neighbouring boundary block of the current block. Boundary matching costs associated with the set of MC candidates are determined respectively. A final candidate is determined from the set of MC candidates based on the boundary matching costs. The current block is encoded or decoded using the final candidate.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for Overlapped Boundary Motion Compensation (OBMC) are provided. According to the method, input data associated with a current block is received, wherein the input data includes pixel data for the current block to be encoded at an encoder side or coded data associated with the current block to be decoded at a decoder side. An inter prediction tool from a set of inter-prediction coding tools is determined for the current block. An OBMC subblock size for the current block is determined based on information related to the inter prediction tool selected for the current block or the inter prediction tool of a neighboring block. Subblock OBMC is applied to a subblock boundary between a neighboring subblock and a current subblock of the current block according to the OBMC subblock size.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatus for video coding are disclosed. According to one method, First ALF (Adaptive Loop Filter) processing is applied to the reconstructed chroma samples for a target reconstructed chroma sample to generate a first filtered chroma sample. Second ALF processing is applied to the related reconstructed luma samples to generate a second filtered chroma sample for the target reconstructed chroma sample, where positions of the related reconstructed luma samples selected for the second ALF processing are determined according to the target chroma format. According to another method, the luma ALF and the cross-component ALF have the same filter coefficient precision.
